Haggard Middle School

MAP test dates and information were sent out to families earlier this week but due to an oversight on our district testing calendar, there was a conflict for several of our Haggard families who will be out of school on Monday, 9/28 for religious observance. To keep our testing during asynchronous times while also accommodating our students who will not be at school on 9/28, we will follow this adjusted MAP testing schedule:

Grades 6, 7, and 8

· Mathematics: Monday, September 21st

· Reading: Monday, September 28th OR Wednesday, September 30th

· Science: Monday, October 5th

All testing will be completed during 1st through 3rd periods only (asynchronous times). We hope this schedule will work better for all of our students and look forward to a successful Fall MAP test administration.

Procedures for attending Middle School Athletics Events will be a little different this year due to safety measures needed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. To help manage event capacity limitations and to minimize contact with paper tickets and money, all ticket sales for Plano ISD Volleyball & Football HOME games will be online only.

Tickets - No CASH purchases at the gate. There are a pre-set number of tickets per venue and all tickets will need to be purchased digitally in advance. The option to purchase digitally will be available at the gate as well, but admission will not be granted if MAX ticket sales have already been achieved.

Limited Seating - Social distancing measures have reduced the attendance capacity of the facilities. Pre-purchasing tickets in advance is the safest way to ensure your ability to attend the events.

Purchasing Tickets - Spectators will have the opportunity to purchase tickets through the Plano ISD Athletics website the week of the game. Tickets may also be purchased on a mobile device using a QR code that will also be posted at the game. There will be a limit on the number of tickets that may be purchased per person.

We have adjusted our class schedule just a bit for ALL of our students - both F2F and Remote - to allow for a full 30-minute lunch period for all students and teachers while also coordinating class times for students in both learning environments. Everyone will continue to have their same lunch period but with 5 extra minutes. We will post this adjusted schedule on our school website and teachers will update their lunch times in their Google classroom as well. Many thanks for your patience while we continue to monitor this and make adjustments as needed to keep our students safe. We will begin following this new schedule on Monday, 9/21.

Plano ISD's Food and Nutritional Services (FANS) is using a new payment system this school year - Rycor Student Quick Pay System. Student account balances in PayPAMS rom the 2019-2020 school year have been transferred over to the new Rycor Student Quick Pay system.

Plano ISD applied for and was granted a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) providing free meals for all Plano ISD students, whether enrolled in either Face-to-Face or School@Home. Meal Service for PISD Face-to-Face Students

Due to a waiver issued from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), effective September 14, 2020, all Plano ISD Face-to-Face students will receive free breakfast and lunch meals through December 31, 2020, or while USDA funds are available.

Plano ISD Face-to-Face students will have the opportunity to purchase a la carte snacks and drinks during meal service.

Curbside Meal Bundles for PISD School@Home Students

Due to a waiver issued from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), effective September 15, 2020, all Plano ISD School@Home students will receive free breakfast and lunch meal bundles through December 31, 2020, or while USDA funds are available.

Weekly meal bundles will be provided on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 10:30am and 4:45pm to 6:00pm at Clark HS, Shepton HS, and Williams HS. Starting, September 22, meal bundles will also be available at McMillen HS and Vines HS. Meal bundles will consist of five breakfasts and five lunches.

*Anyone picking up meals for students, without the student present, must bring appropriate documentation in the form of a school issued ID, report card, parent portal attendance summary form, or birth certificate.
