Au Gres Football Preview/ Recap
Au Gres continues to impress as they come off an outstanding offensive performance. They beat Central Lake 76-56 on the road in rainy, and wet conditions. Now nearing the perfect regular season trying to go 9-0 for the first time since 2018. Au Gres looks to win the NSL outright if they beat Posen at home this friday. That’d be the first time since 2018 as well. I think this Au Gres team is legit, they’ve handled every team in any type of conditions with ease. They’re offense is one of the best offenses in the entire 8 man football of michigan. They’re defense shows some holes that can be exploited, but I think come playoff time they tighten it up on the defensive end. I think this Au Gres team can make some history while doing it. They’ve only won two playoff games prior to this season, which was the 2018 Au Gres team. Au Gres faces a 1-7 Posen Vikings as they travel to Au Gres Friday trying to ruin the perfect season for Au Gres. I don’t think Posen has an answer for the Au Gres offense, because they can beat you in the air or with the run. Both rushing and passing have over 2,000 yards each. That’s insanely hard to prepare for as defensive coordinator, because if you pack the box you leave the deep ball over the top, if you don’t pack the box Keagan Bender will tear the middle up on his feet. I think Posen will punch a few tds in vs Au Gres. So, I predict the Final to be 63-14. I’ll give you a sneak peek at the playoff picture of Au Gres being put into region 2 along with Marion, Mio, and Hillman. Au Gres matched up with Hillman, a team they’ve beaten this year already. That’s what Au Gres playoff region looks like as of right now it can change with the upcoming game. Sunday will be the day we find out who Au Gres plays in the first round of the playoffs. Au Gres hosts Posen @7pm, Friday! It’s Senior night so come and make some noise as you support your Wolverines trying to win the North Star League Title.

#9 Michigan State Spartans head into a bye week after a narrow victory against the Indiana Hoosiers
Last week in Indiana, the Spartans ground out a tough win against the Hoosiers, where Kenneth Walker III was finally grounded. Walker III only had 84 yards on 23 attempts. This was not expected, but the other side of the ball was the best part of the Spartans performance last week. The red zone defense of the Spartans was a very pleasant surprise. They held Indiana to 3 fgs in three trips in the first half. Cal Haladay also had a clutch pick-six in the first half, which kept Sparty in the game when the offense did nothing in the first half, only amassing 53 yards. But as the Spartans put this game behind them, they have a lot of extra time with the bye week to focus on their biggest rivalry game this year against the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans are going to be on the road against the Wolverines on the 30th as they try to bring home Paul, the rivalry trophy. I believe that with the extra recovery time that we have to prepare for Michigan that we will physically dominate them. When you give a downhill, run-first team time to recover and rest the results usually favor that team. That’s why I believe that the Spartans are going to keep Paul in the trophy case this year.

AGS Volleyball
The lady wolverines were able to secure a win last week over Saginaw Arts and Science Academy. This match went to four sets out of five. Dayton Crouterfield had numerous aces from behind the service line and multiple attacks from the front row. Mallory Gordon had several passes from the back row. Mary Czarnik had several assists on the night. Great job ladies! This week, the lady wolverines are on the road. This week the volleyball team travels to Oscoda and Alcona. The Lady Wolverines have yet to see Oscoda this season. As the season is winding down, the Lady Wolverines are preparing themselves for districts. Securing themselves a bye in the first round, the Wolverines will not play in the district tournament until November 3rd. The Wolverines will play against the winner of Hale vs. Midland Calvary Baptist. Do not miss the last home games of the season! Senior night is October 23rd. Come out and support your favorite Lady Wolverines.

Negative Smells Are Processed Faster than Positive Smells, Study Says
A study, conducted by the Karolinska Institutet, has found that the brain process bad smells faster than it does neutral odors. This is believed to act as an alarm system to keep the body from walking into dangerous areas or eating dangerous things. Although it’s believed that our aversion to bad smells is voluntary, it is largely involuntary and up to reflex. This reflex is also one of the fastest of any sensory reflex, with the signal reaching the muscles in about 300 milliseconds. The signal first travels from the olfactory organs in your nose to the brain in 100-150 milliseconds. The smell is then processed in the brain and signals are sent out in response to it. The nose is a very important tool for any organism, as eating something hazardous or staying in a dangerous area is a very effective way to die in a rather horrible way. Our nose prevents this nearly entirely, with only a few hazardous gases being odorless. Who knows how far we would’ve gotten without it? The source article probably can’t answer that, but you can access it in the link below if you have other questions.

Game Releases, updates, and console updates
Today is the day where you find out what games are set to release and when and where to find the information. Now if you're anything like me, you can't wait for the release of the newest edition being added to the Call Of Duty franchise. That's right, I'm going to discuss the release of Call Of Duty: Vanguard (Releases November 5). Now there is a lot of speculation that this newest edition of Call Of Duty has a lot of potentials to become the hottest game on the market upon its release. Some of the new features Call Of Duty: Vanguard has to offer may come as a surprise to those who don't keep up with the latest games and their content, but hey that's what im here for. First I want to cover the information regarding the campaign, though a lot of you don't necessarily care or intend to play the campaign for those who do there are a lot of things I need to cover. Now for those of you who love Call Of Duty zombies then this is huge news for progressing the storyline in The zombie community, the Campaign is allegedly planning to touch on the dark aether, that's right zombies are coming to campaign with some dark and sinister backstory. Now for multiplayer, the crew over at Treyarch are intentionally providing information in their new trailer of the new game mode coming to Call Of Duty. Next, I want to discuss the release of a game that has been long awaited for Forza Horizon 5, (Releases November 9) that's right the Forza is expanding its franchise with this absolute HYPEfilled experience. We have a lot to cover so let's get started, no time to waste. So first off we have the new and improved graphics, though the graphics were already excellent, they are getting the upgrade of a lifetime with this new and improved engine that will jumpstart your heart 100 times over and with new cars and areas to explore it's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Starting off with the cars now I know there is already a lot of desire for the new cars to be discussed so I'll start right now. The first edition is the Nissan GR Supra, though this is a well-known car and my personal favorite it is a legendary addition to the already massive car inventory, it is one that will be loved by all who awaited its arrival. Secondly, we have the Stingray Coupe, now this car in the real world may not look like all the other supercars like the Nissan Skyline or the world-renowned Lamborghini, but don't underestimate this car one bit because it is sure to knock your socks off with its impeccable horsepower, this car handled like a dream and drives like a tamed horse on a warm day. And lastly, we need to talk about the new pop-up races and where to find them. Whether you're driving around like a normal human or you're drifting like it's Tokyo, there is a lot of room for anyone, even those who love to race and prove their dominance. That's right Forza has upped the chances of finding pop-up races by about 15%, and it doesn't stop there. With more and more pop-up races, don't think there is a shortage of events in the slightest, with this monster of a game coming soon you better hope that it won't disappoint you at all. The events in this game are revolutionary with the new types of prizes for your placement and the official tournaments that will lead to championships with grand prizes. That is all for today thank for reading, and if you want more information about the games discussed above, or other upcoming games and updates be sure to check the link below.

Funding mental health instead of physical health
In the state of Michigan there has been a new fundment by the Medicaid which will now fund mental health just as much as they fund physical health. In lansing this new movement will be starting this month with 13 mental health and addiction clinics across the state of Michigan will be a part of this fundment by Medicaid. Just as any other health center, in efforts the U.S Senate Debbie Stabenow said the funding will help “bridge the stigmatic and funding divide between mental and physical health.” All the clinics that will be getting this funding have high standards of care for the individuals in need of the mental health funding. Stabenow says “ We haven't been funding Mental health and addiction as health care for too long! We’ve said before that ‘Health care above the neck is treated differently than Health care below the neck’.” There are now 33 “CCBHC” in the state of Michigan that are providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, crisis services. People who are not able to access help early on in addiction or mental health often to always end up “utilizing” clinic crisis services. “CCBHC” often helps coordinate emergency rooms, veteran services, and local law enforcement to help make sure that mental health care is given to those in need.
