Informational Items:
The Patrick Youth Foundation Donation: The Patrick Youth Development presented checks to multiple athletic teams and one school organization:- Boys basketball
- Girls basketball
- Boys wrestling
- Girls wrestling
- South Girard School Distinguished Gentleman
A.B.C. Updates: The Board received a report on attendance, behavior, curricular progress, goal-setting, and the Schools of Character initiative.
Federal Programs Update: The board received an update about previous, current, and future projects and allocations within the federal programs department.
Board Chair Discussion
- The Board Chair led a discussion on the development of superintendent goals.
- The Board voted for the Board Chair, Mrs. Yolaunda Daniel, and Vice Chair, Mrs. Katrina Collier-Long to represent the Board at AASB 2024 Delegate Assembly on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. for the association's annual business meeting. Board member, Mr. Jonathan Taylor, was selected as the alternate.

Key Decisions and Updates from the Latest Board Meeting
The board was presented with and discussed several critical items to enhance operational efficiency and educational quality within Phenix City Schools. These items include:
The Board approved the minutes for:
- September 17, 2024, Called Board Meeting
- September 19, 2024, Board Meeting
Approved Financial Reports: The Board approved the September 2024 board and local school accounting (LSA) accounts payable check registers and the financial statements reflecting current general ledger and bank reconciliation balances as presented by the CSFO.
Approved Executive Coaching Contract: The Board approved an executive coaching contract for the superintendent with Jenkins & Associates.
Approved Job Description and Salary Schedule: To meet the needs of scholars, the Board approved a job description and salary schedule for Behavioral Support Paraprofessional.
Approved Tuition Assistance for Recruitment & Retention: In alliance with the PCS Strategic Plan, the Board approved Tuition Assistance for Recruitment & Retention program for employees.
Approved Local Textbook Adoption Committee: The Board approved the 2024-2025 Local Textbook Adoption Committee. The textbook adoption for this year will be for Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Guidance and Counseling Textbooks and supplemental materials.
Approved The WORKS Contracts: The Board approved two contracts with The WORKS for social emotional learning framework for scholars at the Success Academy and restorative practices training with administrators.
Approved Architect Contract: The Board approved Hecht Burdeshaw Architects for the design of the multipurpose building at Phenix City Elementary School. The construction of the multipurpose building was approved in the FY25 Capital Plan in August 2024.
Approved Chromebook Repair Bid: The Board approved the bid # GF 2024-10 to repair damaged Chromebooks to AGI Repair, for services as needed.
Approved Child Nutrition Bids: The Board approved two bids for the Child Nutrition Program:
- Ice cream bid to Hershey's Ice Cream
- Carbonated beverages bid to Coca-Cola
Approved Surplus Inventory: The Board approved declared inoperable technology equipment as surplus. The items will be disposed of in accordance with board policy.
Approved Out of State Field Trips: The Board approved ten out of state field trips for the months of October, November, December, and February.
Approve Personnel Recommendations: The Board approved the Superintendent's recommendation regarding changes in personnel.
