MST Weekly Update
December 13, 2024

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
With just one week left before vacation, most of the focus this past week has been on finishing up as much work as possible before the break. As a result, it was a fairly quiet week as far as activities go. Two of our holiday drives are still in progress and will wrap up next week. A new fundraiser will occur next week to benefit Waypoint Manchester, an organization that assists youth in need.
One more reminder about the importance of attendance in school and its relationship to success in classes. This year we are seeing an increase in absences and many of us are concerned that this may impact our students' ability to successfully complete all courses on time in June. This is of extreme importance to our seniors who wish to graduate on June 14, 2025.
MST-CTE Regional Meeting
This week, MST hosted a regional CTE meeting with guests from the Department of Education, the Community College System of New Hampshire, the Manchester School District office and representatives from Bedford, Goffstown and Londonderry, our three sending districts.
At this meeting, MST presented information about what we have accomplished over the past year as well as sharing plans for the future of our CTE center. A highlight of the meeting was an opportunity for students from eight of our programs to showcase what they are dung in their programs while interacting with our guests. All who attended were very impressed by the presentation form our students. They really did a fantastic job.
Gift Wrapping Kits
MST's National Technical Honor Society is selling gift wrapping kits next week outside of the school store. The kits are $2.00 each or 2 for $3.00. All proceeds from the sales of these kits will be donated to Waypoint Manchester for community youth.
Toiletries Drive
The Manchester Youth Council and Office of Youth Services are hosting a toiletries drive to support homeless families in Manchester during the upcoming holiday months. They are hoping to collect items like shampoo, soap, dental health items, and deodorant. If you would like to donate items, they can be dropped off in the main office in the toiletries drop box. This drive will be running until December 17th.
Socks, Blankets and Coats Needed
The MST Health Professions classes are conducting a Winter Drive. They are collecting donations of socks, blankets, and coats to benefit the New Horizons Shelter. They will be collecting donations until 12/20. Socks and blankets need to be new. Coats can be new or slightly used. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
