Mustang Staff News
April 22nd
Thanks for an awesome week and AWESOME Friday! I believe we as a staff enjoyed the races more than the students!
- COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER FOR THE WEEK: Please review our parent newsletter for the week: CLICK HERE
- COMMUNITY MEETING: Just wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to the many staff members that attended the community meeting. It was great looking out seeing so many staff mustangs! :)
- STUDENT CONDUCT: Spring has officially sprung at Cliftondale! (Please make certain to review my burb in the parent newsletter pertaining student misconduct) As we historically do when the weather begins to change, we are seeing an increase number of ODR (office direct referrals) for student misconduct. Please make sure that we are reteaching our behavior expectations. This should be done through our PBIS Lessons. Please also make certain that you engage with the student's parents pertaining their child's behavior before making an office referral. Teachers should also referral a student to Dr. Ford for counseling services.
We have had several fights to occur with inadequate adult supervision. Students MUST be monitored at all times. In addition, when providing students out of class timeout, students must be placed in a teammates classrooms. Students should not be placed in the hall.
Please make certain that we are actively monitoring our students during recess. We have a lot of playfield and it is important that you are attentive to your students whether their playing on the play-structure or the large playfield. Please remember, students should not have cellphones out during recess. - TKES FORMATIVE OBSERVATIONS: If you have not already had your formative observation, expect this observation to be conducted over the next few weeks. For formatives, we will evaluate you on all 10 TKES standards through a 30-minute observation. TKES STANDARDS In addition, please expect to see our Coaches conducting observations as well. Coaches will come in to review your small group instructional practices. Small groups are expected to occur in all class daily, with the exception of days in which we operate off of a modified schedule or are testing.
- LESSON PLAN EXPECTATIONS: All teachers are expected to post lesson plans in your grade specific lesson plans by COB each Thursday. This is a school expectation and non-negotiable. In addition, all detailed schedules should be uploaded HERE. All schedules should contain your small group time block for reading and math. This too is a school non-negotiable. *The deadline for uploading has passed.
PBIS REWARDS: Relationships and Routines is a Big Rock for FCS and Cliftondale ES. PBIS is a part of this big rock and a part of our daily practices and expectations here at Cliftondale. The premise of PBIS is that continual teaching, combined with acknowledgement or feedback of positive student behavior will reduce unnecessary discipline and promote a climate of greater productivity, safety and learning. We reward students for exemplifying our Mustang M.U.S.T. This expectation is for all teachers and staff members for all students PK-5th.
