Last Week...
We went snowshoeing for the first time this year!! Soon we will be adding skiing to what we do :).
This Week...
We have some exciting plans for this week! We will be picking the other songs/acts of our Christmas concert (dancing, singing and fiddling) and then we will be working on our wreaths, and other Christmas crafts.
We are continuing our Connected North sessions with Heather Endall and her painting lessons. I believe on Tuesday we will learn about eagles and their significance in indigenous culture while painting.
We have visitors scheduled to come this week to our school. We have an occupational therapist and a speech-language pathologist scheduled to come to our school on the 20th. The flyer has been in the band office and on the front door of the school for a couple of weeks now. Additionally, the handout below was sent home a couple of weeks ago. Megan, our PST, will be arriving with them, too. They will be with us for one day.
On the 20th we will be engaging in a national event, too! From 9-10 AM we will be zooming with students around Canada for National Child Day as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child!
On the 20th and the 21st, Linda our fiddling teacher will come to our school in the morning to support students. She will be engaging in one to one lessons as well as whole group lessons.
Also on the 20th, report card will be sent home with students. Parents are invited to come in on the 21st in the afternoon for parent-teacher conferences.
This week our on the land program for the fall ends. We will be spending time rehearsing in the afternoons as the Christmas concert is fast approaching!
I've had to push back the swimming lessons to HR. There will be no swimming this week but hopefully we'll start the program soon.
Hall is now back on!! Hall time for the students will be from 6-8 PM Monday through Thursday. Anita will be the chaperone and organizer for Monday and Wednesday and Ryan will be the chaperone and organizer for Hall time on Tuesday and Thursday. Due to the change in Hall time, the after school program will end each day at 5 PM so that students can get home and spend time with their parents before heading to the Hall.
After school program will run from Monday to Thursday this week. Monday and Wednesday Sadie will run the program and Tuesday and Thursday, Terry will run the program.
Looking Ahead...
The week after this week is a BIG one for us!! We have our Rite of Passage Week planned with Bev and her husband. The dates have changed a bit and the program will now run Tuesday to Friday. It's a VERY full program that I hope and know the students will throughly enjoy. Below is an overview of the program. A separate but connected program has been designed for Peyton and Bev's husband will be supporting that segment of the week.
