This week is CAASPP State Testing Week at Mar Vista Academy! Students will be reviewing their test scores from the past three years in their History and World Cultures classes tomorrow, which will give them a chance to see how far they’ve come—and how much farther they can go. Our challenge to all students: try your best and aim to do even better than last year!
With four minimum days this week and no homework, projects, tests, or quizzes in any other classes, your one and only focus should be to give it your all on the state tests. We believe in you—don’t give up, and if you get stuck, make smart, educated guesses. Every question is a chance to show what you’ve learned. Let’s make some big gains on state testing this year, Vikings! At the end of the week, we will celebrate being done with testing with a Field Day...a game truck, obstacle courses, games, and the Splash of Gratitude activity, it will be a great way to end the week!! 🤗

Starting April 28th, any 8th grader that gets in trouble for a suspendable offense (drugs/alcohol, fighting, bullying, instigating a fight), will lose the privilege of attending all 8th grade end of year activities, including the promotion ceremony. Parents, please have this serious conversation with your child as we would hate for them to miss out on these end of year activities and for you not to be able to see them walk across the stage and get their promotion certificate.
