Dear Slate Families,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. As we head into the final stretch before winter break, there are a few important updates to share.
Our Student Ambassadors, in collaboration with our Social Worker, Lauren Dixon, are organizing a food drive to support our community. Please see the attached poster for more details on how you can contribute. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
As a reminder, our winter break will begin on December 20th, and we will return to school on January 6th, Monday, 2025. Before the break, we will be conducting our winter benchmark testing. It’s important for all students to be present during this time as we have limited days to complete the assessments.

January 17: Slate Ridge Snowball Dance Night -5PM-7PM
January 20: No School-Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
January 22: 3rd grade parent night for testing, 4:30PM, Slate Ridge Cafeteria
AM Arrival 9:10-9:20am - Enter from Taylor Rd., pull through the car rider loop, and drop students along the sidewalk in the pickup/drop zone. Exit through the neighborhood. Students will enter the building through the back gym entrance. Students arriving after 9:20am will be marked tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.
This December, our PBIS program focuses on the character traits of compassion, gratitude, and generosity. Students will develop these qualities with support from their peers, teachers, our School Counselor, and Social Worker. If you have any questions or would like more information, please reach out to your student's teacher.
