Dear Parents and Carers,

You think one week is busy and then along comes the next!

Sadly Miss Jones will be leaving us this summer to go on her adventures. We will miss her but as a former pupil of the school, we are looking forward to seeing her fly! We are currently advertising for a Teaching Assistant so send anyone suitable our way.

Due to Mrs Poskitt successfully securing the Year 1 post at Kirk Fenton for September, we are currently advertising for a full time HLTA. If you know anyone, please point them in our direction!

Mrs Mayhew will also be leaving us at the end of the term - she has managed to secure a permanent post closer to home and although her time with us has been short, we have loved her sweet nature and kindness to all. She will be missed. We have appointed Miss Stanton and Mr Geake who will be joining us for the transition days. More information about classes and teachers will be sent out on Tuesday evening.

I was in two minds about going ahead with Den Day — it’s such a busy time of year, and I’m always mindful of the extra demands on staff as they write reports and prepare for transition days. But I’m so glad we did!

The smiles on the children’s faces on Wednesday afternoon said it all. The energy, teamwork, and creativity on display were wonderful to see. Both children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the chance to problem solve, build, and have fun together.

It was a fantastic afternoon — and one we’ll definitely be repeating next year!

We’ve had another fantastic week in school. On Monday OPAL was launched on the playground. All the children have loved dressing up, digging in the digging area and cooking in the mud kitchen. Thank you to all the parents who came and donated materials for OPAL on Wednesday. On Thursday two teams from year 4 and 6 went to Sherburn Hungate to compete in a football tournament. Both teams did really well. Thank you for all the chocolate donations for the summer fair next week. Have a great weekend.
