WALKING WEDNESDAYS EVERY WEEK IN MAY
In May we hold Walking Wednesdays every week. We do this because the weather is typically pleasant in May. With the arrival of spring and warmer weather, students and staff are generally more willing to walk to school. Bikers are welcome too as long as there is adequate separation between walkers and bikers. It is best if bikers ride independently or with a family member to school. All walkers and bikers on Walking Wednesdays can collect a pencil and sticker before they enter school.
Remember bikers who record 10 rides in or around St. Albans by September 1st can submit a form to the St. Albans Free Library to be eligible for a drawing of some bicycle-related prizes. Rides to school count. Forms are in the School lobby or can printed out from this link.

WILLY WONKA PERFORMANCE FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS
The last performance of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory took place on Friday morning (4-18-2024) before an audience of St. Albans City School students and staff. It was extremely well received and so captivating that the students stayed relatively still on the hard gym floor for over an hour and fifteen minutes. Thanks to all the actors, assistants and Staff member that helped this production come to being.

NAVIGATORS CULMINATING EVENT - EMMONS
This is Mrs. Emmons class showing off their culminating activity around our Amplify Knowledge Unit 11: Taking care of the Earth. We learned all about how not only are people hurting the earth but how we as kindergartners and people of the world can help take care of the earth. We made a poster to show how long it takes a few everyday items to decompose and then how we can Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Take a look at all our hard work we put it in the library! The kids came up with the lists and did all of the title and number writing g themselves.
RENAISSANCE TOWER BUILDING CHALLENGE
Mr. Rouleau challenged his students to build the tallest possible tower out of 15 sheets of paper and masking tape. Time was limited and students had to get after it before measurements were taken. Each classroom group had a winner but the overall winner came from the last group who got within millimeters of the ceiling. 4-18-2024. Check out their various designs in the pictures below.
HARRY POTTER OPEN DOORS - AFTER SCHOOL CLASS
Ms. Cameron-Muscente, a former full time teacher at SACS, clearly know the Harry Potter world inside and out. She has been leading an after-school class based on the Harry Potter books. The students in that class are having a blast.
