PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
September 6, 2024
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
I hope you are doing well and settling into a routine now that we have been back to school for several weeks. We have had a strong start to the 24-25 school year - and I know that is only due to the combined efforts of all members of our school community. I am most grateful for all of your support of our students and the school. One of my favorite parts of the year is hearing the teachers share how much they are enjoying the process of getting to know their new students.
September 16th marks the midterm week of the first quarter. That is the perfect time to check in with your child about their progress. It is always interesting and informative to get the students’ perspective on how they feel that they are doing in progressing towards their goals. This is a good time to listen!
As we approach the roll out of Yondr pouches, I want to make sure that you are informed and have answers to some of the frequently asked questions about this new process. Please review THIS document. We appreciate your help in making this transition as smooth as possible.
Ashley Morgan

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Contact Information in Focus
During the PowerSchool to Focus rollover, some contact information has been scrambled. We want to make sure that all stakeholders are receiving our communications. It takes a village, and we appreciate those of you forwarding our emails to families who are not getting messages. Please share THIS LINK with anyone you know not receiving emails from Walnut, so we can gather accurate information and update our system.
Grade Discrepancies Between Focus and Canvas
Attention Parents/Guardians:
It has been brought to our attention that students can create hypothetical scores in Canvas by simply clicking on the number the teacher entered-- and entering any number that would create a "hypothetical score." Please know that the grade book of record is Focus-- not Canvas. Any changes made by students in Canvas will not be reflected in Focus. If you want to check how your student is doing, always check Focus.
