Happy Friday BWE Families,

We've had such a fun week celebrating Read For A Better Life! We had so many amazing guest readers...Grand Oaks High School students, community volunteers, parents, grandparents, teachers, and our district superintendent, Dr. Null. It's been so cool to watch our students cultivate a love for reading and enjoy a fun dress up week!

In past years, we've held parent panels and would like to know if parents would be interested in doing these again. If you would be interested in participating on a parent panel, please complete this survey link.

Next week is homecoming week for the Grand Oaks community! All of our community schools will be joining the fun. Details for joining in the Grand Oaks HoCo celebration week are included below, along with a message from Principal Bush. It's going to be a fun week!

• Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.

• Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus.

• Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and kept in backpacks, lockers, or other designated storage areas and should not be visible during school hours including instructional time, reward time, free time, lunch, and in the hallways.

• Use of cell phones and smartwatches may be permitted in extenuating circumstances with permission from a staff member. (ex. to notify parent/ guardian of a late bus)

Students arriving after 7:55 a.m. are marked tardy. Early check-out ends @ 2:30 p.m.

All transportation changes should be emailed to birnhamwoods@conroeisd.net.

Changes must be received by 2 p.m.

Birthdays are the best days and we love to celebrate at BWE! We do not however, host birthday parties at school. Parents may send gift bags of inedible items (pencils, bubbles, party favors) for students to share with their class. Edible items may be sent, inedible items are preferred. Due to allergies and dietary restrictions, edible items MUST be store bought with a legible nutrition label.
