Let's Talk About Attendance
Attendance Links and QR Codes
Beginning July 1, 2024 the new attendance law went into effect. The WV Legislature made changes and Fayette County is trying to help make the submission of parent notes and doctor excuses easier.
One big change in the law is all excuses must be turned in within 3 days or they will remain unexcused absences. Listed in this newsletter you will find a QR code that takes you to the submission page for each school.
Parent Notes/Excuses Submission Made Easy
Attendance Excuse Submission QR Code
This QR code contains each school's name to choose from when submitting an excuse. It is very important to use the correct school. Please remember that if your child attends Fayette Institute of Technology (FIT), excuses need to be sent to them as well.
Parents will have to use their child's k12 email account and password. We encourage you to have your child present to assist in learning this new procedure as they will recognize part of the process.
Please use your smartphone's camera to open the QR code. Once you open the code, you will be able to choose the name of your child's school to submit parent excuses, or use the Upload File to take a picture of the doctor excuse and submit.
Step 1: Scan the QR code
- On your Android device or iPhone or iPad device , open the built-in camera app.
- Point the camera at the QR code.
- Tap the banner that appears on your device.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to finish signing in.
