What's Happening @ Stuart Mesa?
Notes From the Principal
Hi Stuart Mesa Parents,
Our PTO hosted a wonderful Veteran's Day Assembly on Friday. The PTO decorated our campus and many TK and Kindergarten students got to see a Marine Corps Color Guard for the very first time. Thank you, PTO!
Next week, Stuart Mesa School will be closed for Thanksgiving break. When we return on December 2nd, get ready for a busy December. We have Santa visiting Stuart Mesa, PTO Holiday Shop, Lunch on the Lawn, Kindergarten and TK Holiday Concerts, and a middle school winter dance.
All of us at Stuart Mesa wish you and your family a safe and fun-filled Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Dr. Heffernan

Cameras Coming to the Classroom Starting in 2025!
OUSD School Safety and Audio System Installed in December.
After successfully piloting a school safety and audio system at two of our schools during the 23-24 school year, the OUSD School Board approved installing this system at all OUSD schools. This system serves as an update to our current bell and intercom system. Each classroom teacher will have a device on a lanyard that amplifies sound throughout the classroom during every lesson. Every student, no matter where they sit, will be able to clearly hear the teacher.
Along with audio and video capabilities, the device incorporates a safety notification button to alert administration and front offices of any emergency situation. In the event of a lockdown or active shooter emergency, Oceanside Police Department can utilize these same cameras to access views into classrooms and throughout the school. We will continue to update our families as we learn more about this new system.
