UpTempo Fundraiser Update
Huge thank you to all of the parents and students who participated in the kick-off of our biggest fundraiser of the year. So far we have reached over $17,000! I have also already notified our admin team that there are currently about 23 kids getting to pie them in the face.
Keep up the great work! You can see our overall amount raised using the link below. Feel free to share your student's link on social media, as this really gets a lot of traction.

Help Sessions - Sectionals (Starting Next Week)
Due to the shortened week, and our Beginner Band Concert this Tuesday, there will be no help sessions required for this week. Students should work on learning their All-Region Music, Scales, Pep Band Music, and Concert Music for their Fall Hauntcert.
Students are now at a level where we can begin our sectionals with each instrument group. This will allow us to build on their fundamentals while helping them progress faster as a section.
Please complete the form below to let us know of any potential conflicts you could have during the week as we finalize the Sectionals Schedule for the 2nd Nine-Weeks. We will communicate this schedule with the coaches as well. We will do our best to accommodate the needs/requests of each member, but flexibility is appreciated.
Thank you!

Band Member Fee: $100/year
RISD Instrument Rental: $100/year (only if renting through RISD)
Please make your payment as soon as possible. If payment needs to be spread over the course of time, please reach out to Mrs. Irby. We have financial assistance for those who need it, and we want to ensure finances do not keep students from participating.
Payment Methods Accepted
- Cash (brought in a labeled bag or envelope to the Band Hall)
- Check (made out to LHABC brought in a labeled bag or envelope to the Band Hall)
- PayPal ( In the notes section of the payment page list your student's first name, last name, and the reason for your payment)

Private Lessons
If you or your student are interested in taking private lessons, please reach out to the lesson teacher directly. The band directors do not setup private lessons for you as it involves both your schedule and the lesson teacher's.
"The Book"
It is the expectation for all of our students to take their belongings home. When students have class, they will bring their binder and instrument to the band hall. After school, they will take their things home. Students do not need to bring their instrument to school on days they do not have class unless they have a private lesson, specific rehearsal, etc.
When instruments are left at school overnight, students must sign "the book".

2. Writing Assignment
3. Parent Phone Call
4. Detention
5. Parent Conference
6. Referral
The first day for this procedure, we had 23 kids sign the book, the 2nd day we only had 5. This is a system that works, and we have seen more kids completing their assignments at home.
MS Night at LHHS Football Game - Fri. October 18th (8th Graders ONLY)
It's time to have our 8th graders perform with the LHHS Band at their football game! Students will need to be dropped of at LHHS after school as we cannot provide a bus during this time.
This will be handed out to students this week. We will have flip folders and lyres for students to borrow if they do not already have one.
Fall Hauntcert - Friday, Oct. 25th 6-7pm in FMMS Large Gym
All Region Masterclass - Sat. Oct. 26th from 9am-12pm at LHMS
For all students interested in auditioning for an All-Region Band, come to our masterclass and review the music, the process, and meet some other players from LHMS. This is a FREE Masterclass, and a must for any students wishing to complete the audition in November.
Full Calendar
In the section of the Newsletter, you will see all of the upcoming events as well as access to our FULL Calendar. We plan a year in advance to avoid conflicts with performances. All students will have a printed copy passed out to them at school, but we suggest accessing our Google Calendar to stay on top of all events.
