As we embark on the next chapter of our Ascend 123 Strategic Planning process, we need your input to help shape the future of Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123! As we proudly celebrate our 123rd year in District 123, the unique connection between our district’s name and this milestone makes it the perfect time for your voice, input, and feedback to help shape our future priorities and ensure continued success.
We encourage all District 123 community members—parents, students, staff, and residents—to share their perspectives and help shape the future of District 123 by taking the Community Survey for Strategic Planning. Survey Closes September 26, 2024.
Thank you for being a vital part of this important process.

Pictured here is Carl A. Sward circa 1960. He was a teacher, principal, and superintendent in Oak Lawn. Sward School, which was built and opened in the early 1950s, was named in his honor.
Thank you to all who submitted your stories to D123 4-WARD. It was a pleasure to read all the submissions. We are so proud of our alumni and the variety of paths they have taken to success. From becoming a doctor to following their entrepreneurial spirit, these graduates all exemplify what it means to be D123.
We want to hear about our alumni's successes in high school, college, and beyond! As our students graduate from D123 and move 4-Ward, we want to stay connected and hear about all the journeys taken in "tomorrow's world." Tell us stories from the classroom, the athletic field, the stage, the culinary lab, extracurricular activities, volunteer experiences, and everywhere in between. We are interested in everything our alumni have been up to since they graduated 8th grade. Fill out this form for possible inclusion in our alumni spotlight electronic newsletter, D123 4-WARD.
