The Eagles Nest
Week of May 26, 2024
Happy Memorial Day Eagles Families!
Our Arts students showed off their theater, dance, art, and chorus talents this past week during our Spring Arts Academy showcases. Thank you to our families for your continued support this year and our YMCA staff for their dedication to our students. At an assemble on Friday, students enjoyed a performance by our Latin Dance Club and were introduced to our new school mascot Clyde. Teachers also motivated our 3rd-5th graders with an EOG pep rally.
EOG testing begin this week. On Wednesday, third graders will be taking the Reading EOG and fifth graders will take the Science EOG. In preparation, please make sure your student gets a good night's rest, eats breakfast, arrives to school on time and is ready to do his/her best. Cell phones, smart watches, and activity trackers are not permitted in the testing environment and should be left at home on testing days. All students will need to bring their fully charged laptops to school for these assessments. These tests are extremely important, and our scores are a reflection of our school.
Students will turn in laptops, Ipads, mifis, and charging cables on June 10. Families will be charged the full replacement cost for items not returned by the last day of school.

Awards Day Information
The Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony will be on Tuesday, June 11 at 11:30am in the auditorium. Invitations will be going home with students on Tuesday. Due to space in our auditorium, each student will be receiving two tickets for Awards Day. Teachers will be sending home information about tickets on Tuesday with the invitation. Tickets will be going home with students the week of the program. We want this to be a special time for you and your child. Tickets will need to be presented at the door on June 7. After the program, families will get to enjoy cake and photo opportunities. If parents would like to check their child out after the program, they may do so with the teacher in the auditorium and pick up their child's report card. Teachers request students not bring any bookbags or other items from home on this day. They will only need a lunchbox if eating lunch at school.
