Preparing Next-Generation Leaders for Christ
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers." Psalm 1:1-3
FROM OUR ADMINISTRATOR
Dear Harbor Light Christian School Family,
As we step into March and feel the anticipation of spring, I find myself reflecting on the incredible gift of relationships within our HLCS community. From the relationships built within the walls of our classrooms to those formed while cheering in the bleachers, it is evident that God has blessed our school with a vibrant and caring community.
This past month, we had the joy of celebrating our annual Jubilee, and I am filled with gratitude for the generosity, support, and love that filled that special evening. It was a beautiful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together for a purpose bigger than ourselves. Thank you to everyone who helped plan, serve, and participate—you are a reflection of the love and unity Christ calls us to.
Our basketball teams have also given us so much to celebrate this season. Watching our boys make it to the regional final has been thrilling, and the support from our HLCS family has been nothing short of amazing. Seeing the stands filled with students, parents, grandparents, and friends—cheering, encouraging, and celebrating together—truly reflects the depth of relationships in this community. “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). How blessed we are to witness this in action!
As we approach spring break, I encourage you to deepen relationships with your family and reconnect with those you may not see as often. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, we can easily overlook the gift of time with those we love. Use this season to invest in each other, to pray together, to rest, and to recharge. Jesus himself modeled the importance of connection with others, sharing meals, conversations, and fellowship. “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).
Thank you for being part of this community. I am continually grateful for each of you and the relationships that make Harbor Light Christian School such a special place.
In His Abiding Love and Service,
Kelly Dutcher Administrator

Jubilee Recap!
What an absolutely extraordinary Jubilee this year! We were blessed to have over 265 of our closest friends with us, along with 44 kids enjoying the Kid Zone, and more than 50 incredible volunteers who made this monumental event a reality.
The evening was nothing short of spectacular, with a silent auction featuring stunning baskets and unforgettable experiences, many of which were generously donated. Our guests were treated to hand-crafted root beer and delicious appetizers, lovingly served by our amazing seniors. There were four highly sought-after raffle baskets, a thrilling live auction, the always-popular dessert dash, and a powerful paddle raise to support the Swordsmen Scholarship fund. This was truly a night overflowing with energy, joy, and praise for the Lord, and we are overjoyed to announce that we raised more than $171,000 through this event!
A heartfelt thank you to every student and staff member who served, to the guests who attended, to the volunteers who selflessly dedicated their entire Saturday to HLCS, to the generous donors and businesses who made it all possible, and to anyone who contributed in any way. This event was a true testament to the power of community, and we couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of so many incredible people.
Today, we are filled with immense gratitude for all the Lord has done and in eager anticipation of the incredible things He will continue to do through Harbor Light Christian School. We are truly beyond blessed!

Senior Family Spotlight
Who is in your family?
Holly, Will, & Vaughn
When did you start at HLCS, and what drew you to enroll here?
We enrolled in 2014 when Vaughn was in 2nd grade. A few families we knew encouraged us to check the school out. After visiting the school, meeting some of the staff, and lots of prayer, we really felt God wanted us to give it a try (originally, we planned on taking it one year at a time just to see how it went).
Get involved as much as possible. It is such a short time window that your children are this age and developing in their walk with Christ. Volunteering/coaching/teaching were such great opportunity to cultivate and strengthen community with others that had kids at the same age and with all of the students. And it was great to feel like we had close relationships with the staff that was investing in Vaughn. It really does take a village.
Oleson Receipt Collection
Please bring us your Oleson's receipts, we can cash them in for money to help cover the 6th grade's Mother's Day brunch. Bring any of your receipts to the front office any time this school year! If you have many, please put them in an envelope.
DO YOU HAVE A TESTIMONY?
Has HLCS had a positive or life-changing impact on your life or that of someone you love? Please share these stories with us so we can keep letting others know what a wonderful difference we can make! Send your experience to jcope@harborlight.org.
