Summer Vacation
Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing summer vacation. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 28. The 2024-2025 school calendar can be found in this newsletter and can be viewed by clicking on the following link https://jcc.plrd.ab.ca/about/2024-2025-approved-division-calendar.

Timetables
Next year's grade 7-12 students can view their timetable in ConnectEd https://connect.edsembli.com/AB/PLRD/JCCH/Portal/viewer/login/login.aspx?LoginType=S under Timetables - Next Year. Timetable changes can be made at the school on Tuesday, August 20 or Wednesday, August 21 from 10:00-1:00pm. Paper copies of timetables will be available on the first day of school.
Grade 7 Homeroom - Next Year
There seems to have been some confusion regarding homerooms for the grade 7 students. To verify which homeroom your student is in please consult their timetable in ConnectEd (using either the parent or student account). Select timetables and next year. You will also be able to see all the teachers and the options your student will have.

Your username (for parents) is the email address that we have on file at the school. If you have forgotten your password you can request a password change or contact the school to reset your password BEFORE 1:00 pm on Friday, June 28.
Student usernames and passwords are their computer login information (firstname.lastname). Students, this is where you went to choose your options.
Grade 2 Field Trip to Heritage Park
Summer Work Experience
Assessments should be complete by Friday, August 2. Mr. Raugust or Mrs. Forsyth will pick them up from your place of employment before August 9.
Prairie Land Scholarships
Grade 12 students are encouraged to apply for scholarships within Prairie Land. August Office Hours
The JCC office will be open from August 14-17 (Monday-Friday) from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Normal office hours will resume on Wednesday, August 28.

Grade 10-12 Girls Volleyball in August
Grade 10-12 Girls Volleyball will be commencing on Monday, August 26 with practice from 6:00-8:00 pm. Tryouts will be on Tuesday, August 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm. If you are planning to play senior high girls volleyball this Fall, please make arrangements to come to these practices.

New Student Registration
If you know of any new families in our community that are planning to register their students at J. C. Charyk Hanna School for the 2024-2025 school year, please have them stop by the school anytime after Wednesday, August 14 (weekdays) between 9:00 am-12:00 pm or 1:00-3:00 pm.
School Supply Lists
You can purchase school supply kits (ECS - Grade 9) for the 2024-2025 school year directly from School Start (www.schoolstart.ca), or you may utilize the supply lists to purchase your supplies locally https://jcc.plrd.ab.ca/parents/supply-lists. The lists have a Starter Package (base package) as well as Additional Items Required. The additional items are required by each teacher; they include items such as pencil cases, sharpeners, and calculators. These products do not need to be purchased on a year-to-year basis if you already have them. Orders placed with School Start will be delivered directly to you.
