Lady Vikings Heel the Bulldogs
7A
The Lady Vikings traveled up to Bulldog territory this past Monday. Burnet came out strong placing a lot of pressure early on. Our Lady Vikings kept composed and ran multiple defensive setups keeping the Bulldogs constantly guessing per the game plan. Starting the game was Danni Tristan, Bennett Buster, Ashlynn Evans, Autumn Clements and Sadie Peake. Coming off the bench with support was Sofia McKinnon, Lillian Kamenzind, Scarlett Wright and Eva Navarro (Sienna Todd out sick). As the game progressed our Lady Vikings fell behind to finish the half down 12-10. Like most games, our Lady Vikings came out more fierce in the second half. Only allowing one basket for the Bulldogs in the entire second half, our Lady Vikings locked them up with the most intense “Whoa-Man” Defense this season. Passing and scoring was well spread throughout the floor showing maturity and composure in the most intense situations. Our Lady Vikings move to 5-0 this season with a 22-14 victory over the Burnet Bulldogs.

Strive for 5!
In addition to missed learning opportunities, many parents also may not realize that our school's funding from the State is directly tied to daily attendance. Each day your child is present, the school receives about $37. While $37 might not seem significant on its own, it adds up quickly. Last year, the District's funding was reduced by over $700,000 due to student absences. This loss of funds impacts our ability to hire more teachers, reduce class sizes, and further enhance the learning environment for all students.
We appreciate your help in reducing avoidable absences so that your child — and all of our students — can take full advantage of the excellent instruction we offer every day.

Vaping = DAEP
HB 114 makes offenses involving the possession and/or or use of vapes a mandatory DAEP offense. School districts will now be required to place all students who are caught in possession and/or or using vapes (of any kind – not just those with drugs) into their DAEP.
Please share this with your children - it's just not worth it!
