Message from the Principal
One of our major goals this year is to define how our school is unique. We want to be able to clearly articulate what makes our school special. Part of that process will be to rewrite our vision, mission, and values statements. These news statements will clarify what we stand for and drive our decisions about programs, school focus, and resources. This is an exciting time because you as parents will have a large part of that process. Please complete this survey to make your voice heard as we design the future of Crest View!
SAC MEETING REAP
On Oct 8, 2025 Crest View SAC met to discuss CVE’s revisioning plan and Unified Improvement Plan (UIP), as well as discuss CVE community’s priorities for the next BVSD budget cycle. Principal Hamilton shared details around how CVE’s revisioning process will work, as well as CVE’s Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) plans for the first part of 2024-2025 school year. Key UIP focus areas include: (1) Classroom climate + readiness; (2) Building stamina in problem solving; (3) Data Driven Instruction (DDI) + MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) assessments to help all students progress. Finally, we discussed what’s working well at CVE and what areas could be improved with additional budget allocation (if possible). SAC will take inputs from this group, as well as from CVE parents and others, collate the inputs and provide budget guidance to DAC by the Friday, October 25 deadline.
Thanks for reading! Please email Principal Hamilton if you’d like to learn more about SAC and join us. The next meeting will take place 11/13 at 3:30 and is open to the CVE community.

Technology at School
Please remind your students that according to BVSD policy JRCT-R, cell phones, smartwatches, and all personal technology devices (PTDs) must be turned off and in their backpacks during school hours.
Biking Safety Reminders
Parents, please remind your students to bike safely! Bikers should stay on the sidewalks except when using the loop at the front of the school, watch for traffic, and never ride their bikes through the parking lot. We know the ongoing construction creates ever-changing challenges so if your typical route is disrupted we encourage you and your student to talk to a staff member to come up with a safe alternative.

Plastics Collection
Next week in library time, Crest View students are going to be learning about plastic pollution and why it's hard to recycle plastic. To make our school a little greener, we're partnering with Ridwell, who's generously offered to collect and recycle as much Plastic Film as we can collect and turn it into recycled building materials, including Trex decking. You’re invited to bring plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school the week of October 28th, and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills.
Start collecting plastic film now so you have a bunch to bring during the drive!
You can help the school earn free plastic film recycling if you sign up for or gift a household membership by December 15. Use this link to make sure your membership counts towards the Crest View effort.
