Dear Rocket Families,
I hope you all have enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend! It is hard to believe that we are only 3 weeks away from FALL!
As we begin week 4 of the year, please see some important items to note below:
- If you have not yet connected with your child's teacher by way of Class Dojo, please do so ASAP. This is the main course of communication for our teachers and the easiest way to keep up with all RES events.
- PLEASE help us with our 50/50 Fundraiser! We have about 1/4 of the school selling tickets at this time. Our goal is for every student to sell 5!!!!
- Fall Picture Day will be on Tuesday, September 17. Information will be sent home later this week.
- VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - BUS 83 PM continues to have daily bus referrals due to behaviors. It is our most populated bus and I am working with the bus garage to have some addresses switched to other buses, if possible. If your child rides BUS 83 PM PLEASE remind them of the need to stay buckled at all times, keep their hands and feet to themselves, and use a Zone 1 (Whispering, Spy Talk so that only the people in your seat can hear you). PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS SO YOUR CHILD CAN MAINTAIN THEIR BUS PRIVILEGES.
At Rutherfordton Elementary, we believe in educating the WHOLE child. This means that in addition to the academic needs of students we must also attend to the social and emotional learning needs of students (SEL). Beginning next week, our school will begin our social and emotional learning curriculum program (Second Step) during classroom morning meetings.
