Family Update
Week of November 18, 2024
Message from the Principals
Skyline Family,
As we head into the final stretch of this trimester, I want to take a moment to reflect on how grateful we are for each of you. Your support, encouragement, and partnership make our school community stronger and more vibrant every day. Together, we’ve built a place where our Eagles can soar, and for that, we are truly thankful.
Final Exams Are Here
Final exams are approaching quickly, and this is a crucial time for our students. Here are some tips to help them finish strong:
1. Create a Study Schedule: Break study sessions into manageable chunks, focusing on one subject at a time.
2. Find a Quiet Space: Minimize distractions and create a comfortable environment for studying.
3. Practice Self-Care: Encourage your student to eat healthy meals, stay hydrated, and get plenty of sleep.
4. Ask for Help: If your student feels stuck, remind them that their teachers are here to support them.
Mental Health Matters
Finals can be stressful, so it’s important to take care of mental health during this time. Here are some strategies to keep in mind:
- Take Breaks: Studying for hours without a break can lead to burnout. Step away and recharge.
- Practice Gratitude: Reflect on something positive each day. Gratitude is a powerful stress reliever.
- Breathe: Deep breathing exercises can calm nerves before a big test.
We Are Grateful for You!
In the spirit of gratitude, we want to thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Watching our Eagles grow, achieve, and thrive is an honor. As a school, we are grateful for:
- The resilience our students show every day.
- The support you, our families, provide at home and in the community.
- The dedication of our teachers and staff who go above and beyond for our students.
Let’s end this trimester on a high note, together. If you have any questions about the finals schedule or need additional support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
With Eagle Pride,
Your Skyline Administration Team
Casey Elmore, Terri Patterson, Crystal Fluker, Delsie Sissoko, and Lamanzer Williams

Skyline High School's Holiday Giving Program
Support Our Holiday Giving Program
As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to join us in supporting our school community through our reimagined giving program. With a focus on empowerment, we’re moving away from a traditional wish list model to providing gift cards, allowing families the freedom to choose gifts that are meaningful and meet their unique needs with dignity. This year, the need is especially great, and every contribution makes a meaningful difference for our families.
We’re seeking donations of gift cards in $25 or $50 increments. Please feel free to donate as many gift cards as you are able. Sign up to select which gift card(s) you’d like to donate, and drop them off in the Main Office during school hours. To ensure we have everything ready, please submit all donations by November 26th, before Thanksgiving break begins. Thank you for giving what you can to help make the season brighter for everyone in our community. For questions, please contact Kate Waanders (waandersk@aaps.k12.mi.us) or Chaundra Randle (randlec@aaps.k12.mi.us).
