WHAT'S NEW THIS WEEK?
Principal's Post
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we approach the conclusion of the first semester on January 17, 2025, we wanted to remind you of the importance of staying focused during this busy time of year. With many special activities and events taking place, it’s easy for students to get distracted and prioritize other things over their academics.
We encourage you to take some time to review your child’s current academic progress. If there are areas where they are struggling, now is the perfect time to address those concerns and make a plan for improvement. Open communication with teachers as well as monitoring Skyward can also be a great support in helping your child succeed.
Additionally, we cannot overstate the importance of consistent attendance and punctuality. Every day counts, and arriving on time ensures your child doesn’t miss valuable instruction. Please make it a priority to ensure your child is present and ready to learn each day.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help all students finish the semester strong.

CAMPFIRE WITH A CAUSE!
On November 27th, Mr. Poff’s English class hosted a heartwarming event, Campfire with a Cause. Students from middle and high school classes came together outside to enjoy a brief break, share the warmth of a campfire, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
Students were encouraged to bring a canned food item to be donated, helping us support those in need during this holiday season.
We are so proud of Mr. Poff’s class for organizing this thoughtful event and grateful to all the students and families who participated. It’s moments like these that highlight the power of kindness and community spirit.
Addressing Online Bullying and Responsible Social Media Use
We are reaching out to address a growing concern that is impacting the well-being of our students: online bullying. Unfortunately, the social-emotional harm caused by negative interactions on social media often extends far beyond the screen, affecting not only individuals but also the overall climate of our school community.
We ask for your partnership in monitoring your child’s online activity. Conversations and actions that occur at home on social media can have serious repercussions at school, affecting students’ ability to feel safe and supported. Please remind your children of the potential legal consequences of harassing someone online.
Additionally, please be aware of the following school policies regarding social media use:
- Posting pictures or videos of staff or students during the school day is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
- Social media use during school hours is not permitted unless directly supervised and sanctioned for educational purposes.
Social media, when used responsibly, is a powerful tool for connection—allowing us to share updates and maintain relationships. However, we must work together to help students understand that their words and actions online have real-world impacts.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we strive to create a safe and positive environment for all students. If you have any questions or need resources to guide conversations with your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
