KEWASKUM DISTRICT NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR
Although June 20 is the official first day of summer, this week marks the beginning of our summer break. As we conclude another successful school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support.
You play a vital role in your child’s education. Your involvement, encouragement, and partnership have been instrumental in making this school year a success. From helping with homework and attending parent-teacher conferences, to volunteering at school events and supporting our teachers, your dedication has made a significant impact on our students' academic and personal growth.
We understand that education is a collaborative effort between schools and families. Your engagement provides the foundation for an exceptional learning environment, and we are grateful for your commitment to your child’s educational journey. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we truly value the strong partnership we have built together.
Thank you for being such an important part of your child’s education this year. We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall. Take time this summer to stop, stand, and be still. Have a wonderful summer, and once again, thank you for your support.
Dr. Bazata
Superintendent

UNDERSTANDING GROOMING
As we strive to keep our children safe in an increasingly connected world, it's crucial to be aware of the dangers of grooming. Grooming is a manipulative process by which an abuser builds a relationship with a child, often over a period of time, to exploit, abuse, or manipulate them. This threat can occur both online and offline, and it's important to recognize the signs to protect our children. As we’ve learned this spring concerning the incident with our previous SRO, no community is immune to the dangers of grooming.
Children’s Wisconsin has a great, short pamphlet about the topic here that includes more information about grooming and what parents and caregivers can do to help prevent it. If you ever have questions or concerns regarding grooming for any student in the Kewaskum School District, please contact your school principal or local law enforcement agency.
