Things to know about this week...
Kindergarten Open House
Have family or know friends that have a child going into Kindergarten? We will be hosting an open house this Tuesday night, the 19th, from 6-7pm.
ISTEP Readiness Test
On Wednesday morning from 9-9:30, we will have all students logging into their Chromebooks to try a statewide practice. This is mostly to test for glitches, online success, and practice working with different screens, icons, and answering a variety of question types.
Come support our Huskies!
Our first game of the basketball tournament will be this Wednesday night at Central MS. We play against Parkside starting at 5:30pm.
Goals this week:
Math: I CAN see that different size fractions can be put together to make wholes.
I CAN add and subtract fractions with common and different denominators.
I CAN find equivalent fractions using pictures and multiplication/division.
ELA: I CAN make predictions as I read!
I CAN use pronouns and text evidence to identify the point of view of a story!
I CAN use literary elements to identify the genre of a story!
I CAN use synonyms as context clues to identify meanings of unknown words!
I CAN spell words with long "u" sound!
I CAN make my verbs agree with my prnouns!
Making Wholes
We see how we can take different pieces and put them together to make one whole.
Adding and Subtracting Fractions
We will learn how to do this when denominators are the same and different.
Equivalent Fractions
You can see this visually. You can also find them by multiplying your numerator and denominator by the same number.

Students show how they can collaborate to solve problems. They are sharing ideas on how to find fractional pieces and figure out the probability of different situations occuring.
