Attendance Information:
All absences must be entered through the Parent Portal.
Click here for more information, including directions on how to upload a student absence: Managing Student Attendance.
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more.
Early Dismissal for Appointments:
Student dismissal begins promptly at 3:15PM.
If you need to pick your child up early for an appointment, please pick them up no later then 2:45PM. After 2:45PM, your child can be dismissed with the other walkers, bus riders, and car riders in his/her classroom to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone. Thank you!
Volunteering Information:
To volunteer at a class party or chaperone a field trip, your clearances must be up-to-date & on file with Central Bucks School District.
If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. For more information, consult the Human Resources Volunteer Required Paperwork webpage.
Required Health Exams:
Pennsylvania mandates the following health examinations:
- Physicals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 6 and 11
- Dentals: School entry (Kindergarten), grades 3 and 7
The completed health forms are due to Mrs. Sara Hedges, school nurse, no later than October 14, 2024.
You can upload your completed exam forms to your child's Parent Portal account or email them to shedges@cbsd.org. Please keep a copy of the health forms for your records. Thank you!
The examination forms can be found HERE.
Get to Know Reading Olympics:
- Reading Olympics is a team based competition open to 5th and 6th grade students.
- Students work as a team to read from a list of 25 books—individual team members set their own reading goals.
- Required meetings are held during the school day (usually at lunch—students may still buy!).
- Optional events may occur during or before/after school.
- Reading Olympians participate in one night of competition—the date will be released in January and is typically at the end of March or beginning of April.
- Reading Olympics books represent a range of reading levels and interests—there is a home for any type of reader on our teams!
Want to know more!? Explore our Reading Olympics website at: Library / Reading Olympics (cbsd.org)
Our first meeting is on Wednesday, October 2. Students who attend will bring home additional information on the program.

District Information
Reminder: School Closed on 10/3 & Early Dismissal on 10/31
To remind district families, all schools will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 3 for Rosh Hashanah. District offices are open. All schools will dismiss early on Thursday, Oct. 31 to allow the district to offer professional development to faculty. High school early dismissal time is 10:40 a.m.; middle school is 10:45 a.m.; elementary "A" schools is 11:55 a.m.; elementary "B" schools is 12:10 p.m.; and elementary "C" schools is 12:25 p.m.
Limits on Due Dates for Homework & Summative Tasks Near Observances:
In past years, the district has notified faculty in the week or weeks prior to religious or cultural observances to ensure they are cognizant of these events when assigning schoolwork. This year, the district has shared a year-long calendar of these observances with faculty and set guidelines on when no homework or summative tasks should be due.
Lunch costs have increased by $.10 for the 24-25 school year.
The district is continuing to offer free breakfast!
Lunch Cost: $2.85
Create a Meal Payment Account on MySchoolBucks:
CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not.
You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here.
To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.
Free & Reduced Lunch Information:
The application for free and reduced meal pricing for the 2024-25 school year is open. You can access the online application for Free & Reduced Meals by clicking here. The application must be submitted each year AND for each child. If your child received free or reduced lunch last year, you must re-apply for the 24-25 school year.
Learn more by visiting the full informational webpage here.

KCC Remembers the Heroes:
Kindness Counts Club kicked off the school year with its first meeting last Wednesday after school. We focused on the important character traits of respect and teamwork, by listening to our special guest, Army veteran, youth mentor and former Gayman student Rebecca Cornell, and by working together to create posters for the 9/11 Heroes Run in Doylestown on Sunday. Rebecca told us how she was a fifth grader in class at Gayman on September 11th and that she and her classmates and teacher watched history unfold on television in the classroom. She reminded us why it's important to remember and honor the sacrifices of everyone we lost that day, and the KCC students offered great answers for how we can do that every day. The posters they created were hung along the fence by the starting line of the Heroes Run, inspiring the 2,000 runners who came to remember. A big thank you to all the KCC students and parent volunteers for their amazing teamwork. Club members will receive a Sign Up Genius link soon for October's meeting.
