Principal's Message

Dear Nord Families,

The school year is moving right along here at Nord! It is hard to believe that the last day of the third quarter is Thursday, March 13th! There is no school for students on Friday, March 14th due to staff professional development. Spring Break is Monday, March 31st through Friday, April 4th. We return on Monday, April 7th.

Remember, tonight is Family First Night! I encourage you to take this time to pause, reconnect, and enjoy quality moments with your loved ones. Tonight is a reminder that while academics are important, so is the well-being of our students and the connections they have at home. Enjoy your evening together!

2024 Momentum Award

Walter G. Nord School has been honored with a 2024 Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW), recognizing our outstanding academic growth and commitment to student achievement!

The Momentum Award is given to schools that have increased their Performance Index by three or more points from the previous year’s report card and have achieved a progress rating of four or more stars. Nord School joins an elite group of fewer than 200 schools across Ohio that demonstrated significant improvement in student learning outcomes last school year.

This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Nord's staff and students. It highlights our commitment to providing a high-quality education and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. We are incredibly proud of the progress we have made and will continue to build on this momentum.

Nord PTO

The next Nord PTO meeting is on Monday, April 21st at 9:00 am at Nord School. If you would like the link to join virtually, please submit this form.

There are lots of events happening with Nord PTO to end the school year. Be on the look out for flyers coming home to explain Spring Dances, Field Day Volunteer Sign Up, Spring Flower Sales, 25-26 School Supplies Fundraiser, and Walk-a-ton!!

Spring PTO Dances

Spring Dances

The annual Nord PTO Spring Dances are set and we hope you are able to join us for a Spring Luau!

Boys Choice, Friday, April 11th from 7-9 pm

Girls Choice, Saturday, April 12th from 6-8 pm

Each student must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the dance. This is a cash only event. Tickets are $10.00 cash per couple ($5.00 for each additional Nord sibling) at the door. Cash concessions will be available along with photos from Studio Q.

Dine-to-Donate

On the first Wednesday of each month, Nord PTO hosts a Dine-to-Donate fundraiser at a local restaurant.

The next Dine-to-Donate fundraiser is on Wednesday, April 23 at Marco's Pizza. This is the 5th grade pizza box night (4th grade was March 5th). Students decorate a pizza box in Art class and can receive their order in their own box on April 23rd. All Nord Families may participate in Dine-to-Donate, not just 5th grade families!
