THANK YOU, PTO!!!
A Note From Mrs. Diee
Hello, Lyncrest Families!
What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating Read Across America Week! Students and staff had a blast participating in the fun spirit days, showing their love for reading in creative ways. A special thank you to the students from Memorial Middle School’s Junior Honor Society, who visited on Tuesday to read to our classes, and to the Interact Club from the high school, who shared stories with our students on Friday. The younger students truly enjoy having the older students share their passion for reading, and these visits made the week extra special.
In the classrooms, we celebrated reading with a variety of activities, some of which centered around our One School, One Book selection, Heartwood Hotel. The culminating activities were a hit, and many students have shared that they’re continuing to read the series—how awesome is that?
A big thank you to our wonderful PTO for hosting the Green Pancakes and Ham Breakfast! Your support and hard work made this event a huge success, and the students had a fantastic time. And of course, the Cat in the Hat was, as always, a big hit with everyone! Be sure to ask your child about his dance moves!!! We truly appreciate the PTO’s efforts in making Read Across America Week so memorable for our school community. Thank you again for your continued support!
The PTO March Round Up is below and serves as a great way to stay involved in this month's happenings. Additionally, the PTO is currently seeking nominations for open positions. Please see the information and link below if interested.
As part of our commitment to celebrating the diversity of our school community, we very often provide opportunities for parents to share cultural experiences with our students. We are seeking volunteers to come into the school and share a prepared presentation on Ramadan, an important celebration observed by many cultures. Through these presentations, we aim to explore the similarities between various cultural celebrations and deepen our understanding and appreciation for the rich diversity within our school. This is a wonderful chance for students to learn directly from families about the customs and traditions that make Ramadan special. If you are interested in sharing your experiences and knowledge with our students, please complete the form below. Your contact information will be shared with Ms. Kabir, a fourth-grade parent, for planning purposes. From there, a planning meeting with Mrs. Diee will be scheduled. Your involvement will help foster a more inclusive and engaging learning environment for all our students. Thank you for considering this opportunity to enrich our school community.
