- No School Labor Day: Monday September 2nd.

- IU Indy will be at SCHS from 12-1 on September 27th.
- College Go Week is September 23th- 27th.

Seniors
Seniors are allowed 2 College Visits, prior arrangements must be made. Stop by the Counseling office for the permission form or click here to download
College applications are now open. Seniors should be applying, many deadlines are as early as November 1st.
Super Senior Saturday: Ivy Tech is hosting all Clark County HS Seniors on September 14th from 10am to 2pm Ogel Hall. Representatives from many area colleges and military recruiters will be there as well as Invest Ed reps to assist with FAFSA.
Southern Indiana College Fair: September 17th at 6:30-8:00pm at the New Albany High School gym. Colleges from across the area will be present.
Southeastern Indiana Regional College Fair: September 19 at 6:30 at Hanover College. There will be colleges from across the regional area there. There will also be two presentations on Finanical Aid in Horner Center (Room 102) at 6 pm and 7pm.
- The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana Scholarship Application is now open.. The deadline for students to submit the entire application is September 16th. This includes all scholarships they have available to students in Clark and Floyd County. This includes the Lilly Foundation Scholarship which covers full tuition to any school in the state of Indiana. Indiana University Wells Scholars:
Any student who is interested in being nominated for the Indiana University Wells Scholarship/Program needs to submit a form of nomination and a senior brag sheet to the counseling office by September 11th at 2:30pm. Only two students will be nominated to have their application forwarded on for program consideration.
Coca-Cola Scholars Program: The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarhsip awarded to studetns in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Schoalrs are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. - Transcripts from Parchment: If you are needing a copy of your transcript you can visit http://www.parchment.com. Once you have an account set up you can request your transcripts to be sent to universities and colleges.

- Students in dual credit classes should be working on registering for their classes with Ivy Tech Dual Enroll. Students should also be working on taking the Ivy Tech Knowledge Assessment if this is needed for placement in their class. - The PSAT exam will be October 22nd at Silver Creek High School. This is a practice, or preliminary exam, for the SAT which you will be required to take as a junior. Taking the PSAT is optional for freshmen and costs $18 (payable by cash or check and made out to Silver Creek High School). The last day to sign up and bring a check is September 9th.
This year there is no cost for sophomores and juniors and they are automatically signed up to take the PSAT. Student Athletes
- Students, if you are planning to play sports in college either with the NCAA or NAIA one of the steps to ensure eligibility is to register as a student athlete. Double check colleges that you're interested in to see which eligibility center they are affiliated with. There are other eligibility centers too, but these are two common places to start.
