From Your Pastors
Dear Zion family – It’s finally here! Zion’s Red, White, and Bluegrass Sunday is this weekend. Join us for a very special worship service in the worship center at 10 am in place of our regular 8 am and 10:45 am services. We’ll sing lots of old hymns, hear God’s Word, and have some fun along the way. Beforehand, at 9 am in the gym, we’ll have a family service project to bless the folks right down the road from us off FM 972. Then, after the service, we’ll have some red, white, and blue popsicles for you to celebrate the Fourth of July. It’ll be a wonderful day to worship together as one big church family!
This summer, we’re working through the book of Exodus. This weekend, we’ll look at a plague that God sends on the nation of Egypt because of the empire’s refusal to free the people of Israel from their slavery. The story’s found in Exodus 7:14-17, 20: The LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is hard: He refuses to let the people go. Go to Pharaoh in the morning. When you see him walking out to the water, stand ready to meet him by the bank of the Nile. Take in your hand the staff that turned into a snake. Tell him: The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you: Let my people go, so that they may worship Me in the wilderness, but so far you have not listened. This is what the LORD says: Here is how you will know that I am the LORD. Watch. I am about to strike the water in the Nile with the staff in my hand, and it will turn to blood.” Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded; in the sight of Pharaoh and his officials, he raised the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile was turned to blood. Pharaoh’s heart is described as “hard.” But Pharaoh isn’t the only one who struggles with such a heart. We can, too. Find out how and what we can do about it this weekend in worship. We’ll see you at 10 am in the worship center, or online at zionwalburg.org.
Your pastors love you!

Parlor Bible Study
The Parlor Bible Study (Sunday mornings 9:30-10:30am) is beginning a study of the Apostles' Creed. Many of us placed Luther's Small Catechism on the shelf after confirmation, but there is so much we have forgotten. This is a chance to return to the book that helped us realize the truths of the Trinity: a mystery made known throughout the Bible.
