March is here!
Hello North Scott Families, Staff, and Students,
As we move through March, the days are getting longer, and the promise of spring and graduation is just around the corner, bringing with it a sense of renewed energy. This is also a crucial time for us as we shape the future of North Scott Schools through our strategic planning process. Your voice is vital, and I strongly encourage everyone to participate in the Desired Daily Experience Surveys that have been sent out. Your insights will directly influence the learning environment we create for our students. Please take a few moments to share your thoughts and help us build an even stronger North Scott community. (See the survey information below).
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
Joe Stutting, Superintendent

March Madness
This March Madness, your favorite teams are going all the way to the Final Four... but when it comes to driving, the only bracket you should care about is safety!
Just like a buzzer-beater, decisions behind the wheel need to be fast—but they must be smart. Never text and drive, and always keep your eyes on the road.
Remember, when you’re driving, you’re always in the game. Running that yellow light? That’s a turnover waiting to happen. Play it safe—stop and avoid risky moves.
Before you hit the road, make sure you’re strapped in for success. A seatbelt is your MVP—protecting you, no matter the game’s outcome.
While your favorite team is driving toward victory, you need to be in control behind the wheel. Don't let alcohol or distractions cost you the game—or worse, your safety.
This is Officer Jahns and YOUR NS HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM letting you know that the ball is in your court!
Drive like a champion. Stay focused, stay safe, and don’t let your March Madness end in a crash.
District Notices
Retirement Incentive: Certified Staff
In order to balance next year's budget, the North Scott Community School District will be offering an early retirement incentive for eligible certified employees.
The North Scott Board of Directors has established the following provisions for implementing this Early Retirement Program:
- Eligible certified employees must submit an application to the Board Secretary by 4:00 p.m. on March 14, 2025.
- Retirement will begin on the first day after the expiration of the employee's contract for FYE 2025.
HAV Life Grant Applications
Our district was so graciously awarded funds from the HAVlife foundation again this year. We would love to help cover registration fees for eligible students participating in the arts, music, and athletic programs, or to provide necessary equipment for student participation, and continue investing in the music program’s lending library of musical instruments. Click here or the photo for the application.
Note: A student must be in the age range of 10-15 but does NOT need to be covered by the Free and Reduced Lunch Program to qualify. However, requests for funds must be justified by economic need.
If you have a need or know of someone who has a need, please apply! Applications can be turned in to your building office and need to be in the district office by March 14th.
