Important PowerSchool Information
- All student information is required to be updated every school year in PowerSchool. If this has not been done this year, please take the time to complete the update.
- This process should only take 5-7 minutes to complete. Once you complete the forms, it will take 28-48 hours to be processed and for you to be able to view your student’s schedule.
- Please make sure to read through all pages and sign the confirmation pages at the end of each form REGARDLESS of whether or not changes have been made.
- The fields marked with a red **are the only field you will need to complete.
- If you do not know your Parent PowerSchool account information, please call the WASD IT Help Desk at 208-350-5300. Their office hours are 7:30am-4:30pm. Please DO NOT create a new account.
- Students cannot get access to the programs they need for their classes without this information.
- The student integration team cannot help them without having this information in PowerSchool.
- This is also a huge safety issue for your school. Without parent contact information, the school has no way of notifying them in case of an emergency.
August is Fentanyl Awareness Month
- Did you know that Fentanyl kills approximately 300 people a day!?!
- August 21st is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.
- Please talk to your kids about the dangers of Fentanyl. One pill can kill!

Assessment Culture
- In West Ada School District, instruction, assessment and reporting focus a student's learning on the priority standards, which are the key skills and knowledge for a content area (e.g. math, reading, health, music, etc.).
- The goal of this approach is to provide the teacher, student, and parent with accurate feedback on where the student is in relation to the learning target. Learning is a process that takes place over time.
- The teacher provides feedback to the student about what to focus on next, and the student can show improved learning over time by being reassessed.
End of the quarter
- First quarter ends on October 9th. Classes close at 2:40 pm
- Please stay on pace so you can complete your course early or on time.
Writing Help
- Please remember that writing is 50% of students' overall grade school wide.
- If students need help with a paper, or citations for a paper, the English department is available to help!
