I would like to give a huge thank you to our wonderful PTO and all of the families that helped to make trunk or treat a huge success again this year! This event is a favorite among both staff and students and we could not make it happen without all of the donations and volunteers! Thank you!

Come join our team! We are in need of playground/lunchroom monitors at Springview. If you are available Monday-Friday from 11:30-1:30 and are interested in the position, please reach out to Mrs. Mesarosh at stacey.mesarosh@flushingschools.org or call the main office at 810-591-8550.

As the weather gets colder, please make sure that your students are dressed for the conditions outside. We go outside for recess as long as it is not raining and the temperature with the wind chill is above 0 degrees. If there is snow on the ground, all 1st-3rd graders will have to wear snow pants and boots in order to play on the grassy areas. If they do not have these items on, they will have to play on the blacktop only. Please make sure your students have coats, mittens, hats, boots, and snow pants as needed for the weather.

Please take a moment to remind your students that any threatening comments at school will not be tolerated. These comments, even if they are joking, are taken very seriously. Thank you for your help in communicating this with our students.

Parent teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, November 7th and Wednesday, November 13th from 4:15-8:00 P.M. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to schedule a conference. We are looking forward to discussing your child's progress so far this year.

Please take a moment to complete our school climate survey using the QR code or link below. Surveys will also be available at parent teacher conferences. We will be giving out a fresh bag of popcorn during conferences to those families completing the survey. If you complete the survey prior to conferences, please take a screenshot or picture of the completed survey to get your free popcorn during conference night. We greatly appreciate the feedback and your support in our continuous improvement.

Thank you for all of the donations of candy for Trunk or Treat! We had 41 cars participate, our largest group yet. We appreciate all of the support with this event. During the month of November, we will be having a poinsettia sale for the holidays. They will be delivered in early December. Student council is also doing a shoe drive and would love to take donations of your gently used shoes. We are looking for store bought desserts and beverages for parent teacher conferences. If you would like to donate something, please drop it off in the main office. December will be a very busy month at Springview with the Penguin Patch and Springview Express. More information will be shared as these events get closer. We are looking forward to the upcoming months at Springview. Lastly, we will be having a PTO meeting on November 4th at 6:00 P.M. in the Art room.

This month's staff shark of the month is Ms. Sam! Springview is so lucky to have Ms. Sam as a staff member! She is currently working in both of our emotionally impaired classrooms, supports a student with medical needs, helps with bus drop off and pick up, and rides the bus to help with one of her students. She is always willing to help where needed. Her schedule often varies in support of her students and she adjusts to make it work for everyone. We greatly appreciate Ms. Sam and all that she does for the staff and students at Springview!
