A School Site Council (SSC) is a group of school staff, parents, administrators, and interested community members who work together to develop and monitor a school's improvement plan. It is a legally required decision-making body for any school receiving federal funds. The mission of the Steele Canyon SSC is to develop and support a productive educational experience for students and positively affect the formation of major decisions made within the school to close the achievement gap. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3:45pm. There is currently 1 openings for parents to be elected to this leadership committee. Our SCHS school safety committee meets quarterly on Thursday afternoons (next meeting is Thursday, September 19th at 3pm). We are looking for parent volunteers to attend the meeting and participate in creating our Safety Committee newsletter. If you are interested, please email Ms. Hernandez at ephernandez@schscougars.org.

Our PTO meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Staff Lounge, with our next meeting coming up on just around the corner on September 3, 2024. Everyone is welcome to participate! We currently have a few vacant board positions which include: Auditor, Hospitality Chair, and Fundraising Chair. If you would like to learn more about those positions or PTO in general, please email us at pto@schscougars.org.

Here are the sports for next week! Red = away, Blue = home, and Pink = Team Event!

On September 11th the girls volleyball teams is hosting their 2nd annual fundraiser game to benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation. We will have food, our snack bar, and shirts to order as well. We would love your support for this great event remembering 9/11 and supporting our military and first responders. Feel free to email wholland@schscougars.org with any questions.

Competition Cheer Tryouts are Saturday September 7th at 9:00am in the mezzanine!

All athletes MUST be cleared through the finance office in order to participate!

Friendly reminder to drive cautiously as you enter and exit the campus. Campus Supervisors are here to keep the traffic moving - please follow all traffic directions from security personnel. Reminder that we do not provide access for cars at the back of the school during the school day.
