Rising Seniors and families:

Mrs. Parry will be hosting three days over the summer to begin exploring and brainstorming ideas for your college application essay. Due to summer vacation plans and schedules, there is no commitment to attend all three. This is a drop-in opportunity to begin writing and hopefully have most of your essay finished by September. Bring your Chromebook.

WHS will be open Monday-Thursday this summer from 7:30-5:00. FCPS has quiet weeks, meaning schools are not open to the public unless you have an appointment. These weeks are June 17-20 & July 29-Aug 1.

If you are interested in firefighting as a career or volunteer service you can now do an internship at the Frederick County Division of Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services. Pending board approval, starting next year this will also be a 2 year completer program.

This is a 2 block internship during your junior or senior year in the afternoon. Must have availability in your schedule and have transportation to the site. Email Mrs. Fogle or Mr. S for more information. Email: kim.fogle@fcps.org or nicholas.schoeneman@fcps.org

Beginning on July 1, 2024, Walkersville High School’s phone number will be changing as all of FCPS transitions to a new telecommunications system.

The phone number change is necessary for two primary reasons: (1) The current telecommunications system is being modernized to allow more system functionality and reduce maintenance and service costs; and (2) the phone number change allows for the standardization of FCPS phone numbers with a common area code and initial three digits for all schools.

Walkersville High School’s new phone number for the main office will be (227) 203-3350.

School based staff can be reached by calling the school’s main number and choosing the appropriate option from the call menu or by dialing a staff member’s extension at any time:

2. Attendance
3. Counseling Office
4. Health Room
5. Cafeteria

Walkersville High School has been preparing for this change by ensuring that we are updating all contact information on the school website, school messaging and other school documents. We are committed to making this transition with a minimal impact on school communications.
