Dutch Fork High School Beta Club: Sharing God’s Love Shoe Drive
This holiday season, our Beta Club had the incredible opportunity to bless our community through the Sharing God’s Love Shoe Drive. Under the leadership of our Activities Director, Thomas McKinney, we collected new shoes for families in need.
It's a joy being able to provide a need for someone else. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make the holidays extra special for so many. Together, we share love, hope, and the season's true spirit.
Mrs. Twining's Chemistry Honors Class
In Mrs. Twining's Chemistry Honors classes, students investigated the principles of electron excitation through a flame test lab. During this hands-on experiment, they examined the chemical compounds responsible for the vibrant colors in fireworks. By dissolving these substances in water and subjecting them to a Bunsen burner flame, students observed the process of electron excitation, resulting in the emission of colorful light.

Thank you, Mrs. Dena, for teaching Mr. J and Mrs. Miller's students how to make delicious Mountain Dew biscuits! If you need the recipe, email jmiller@lexrich5.org.
Spanish Classes host guest musician
The students in Mrs. Shackley and Ms. Puskarz's Spanish 3 classes got to listen to a special guest musician, Geoff Shackley, do a demo on Latin beats for their unit on Music. The students heard some classics such as the Salsa and Cha-Cha to the more modern Reggaeton. They used their vocabulary to describe and compare the different beats.
