Success Metrics for Math 180
Math 180 Monthly Metrics February
Math 180 Monthly Metrics March
We recently met with Math 180 partners to review mid year data. We understand that implementation of new programs can be challenging, which is why we purchased Coachly licenses to make this transition smooth and ensure student success. After reviewing mid-year data, we noted that many schools have not taken advantage of this opportunity. To access your license, log into the HMH platform using your teacher login credentials (this will be your last name, first initial). This video will walk you through how to connect with your coach and schedule your first coaching session. These licenses cannot be shared but can be transferred to someone else who is highly involved in Math 180 instruction. If someone else needs this access, please reach out to your RTI2 Facilitator, and we will make this change. Teachers who have used Coachly have found it to be a very beneficial tool.

Fidelity Checks
According to the state updated RTI² Manual, "...fidelity is measured by the accuracy or extent to which the instructional methods and materials are used to provide instruction. The goal of fidelity monitoring is to ensure that the intervention is being implemented with integrity and to the specifications of the intervention methodology or program being utilized."
We now have the ability to complete Fidelity Checks in MTSS as well. This powerpoint can guide you through the process. Schools should conduct at least 1 direct observation per semester and 2 indirect per semester.
Educator Spotlight
East Knox Elementary
Magic is happening at the East Knox Elementary RTI² Headquarters, where Core Extension is now called “WIN” (What I Need). The idea is that each student is getting what they need every day. Their team of academic interventionists include Venessa Brooks, Mark Jones and Kelly Villano.
In preparing to roll out intervention groups, the team of interventionists led an RTI² Expectations & Best Practices PLC that highlighted the importance of teaching the Benchmark curriculum with fidelity. After the QPA, QSA and Universal Screeners were administered, results were thoroughly analyzed by a team, which included classroom teachers, SPED teachers, interventionists, ELL teacher, instructional coaches, and administrators. The result was that each student was placed in their skill-specific instructional level. The next step in creating groups was for Interventionists to take a deeper look at each student’s QPA/QSA Scoring Sheet and identify common patterns in their responses. Using the KCS Coherence Map of Interventions as well as the Tier II and Tier III Benchmark Scope and Sequence, they were able to determine the specific lesson for instruction that would meet their needs
GT Resources
The Benchmark Research and Inquiry projects are a great fit for your enrichment needs during CoreX. They highlight the essential question and enduring understanding for each unit and give students the opportunity to complete a fun project along the way! A.I.M. modules are another great option for CoreX and our Advanced students. These short (2-3, 30 min sessions) modules give students the opportunity to be enriched in math or ELA. The advanced math booklets are ready to use extensions of the math lessons for K-2. Just print and give them to your students to use in small group or independently.
Hardin Valley Elementary
Hardin Valley's intervention time is strategically designed to meet the unique needs of every student, with a strong focus on data-driven instruction. By analyzing assessment results and classroom performance, the teachers place students into targeted intervention or enrichment groups that maximize their growth. Advanced students benefit from this structure as they engage in activities that challenge their critical thinking skills. These students explore deeper concepts and tackle complex problem-solving activities. This intentional use of intervention time ensures that all students—whether they need support or enrichment—receive instruction that is both meaningful and impactful.
