Principal Transition Letter
May 5, 2025
Dear Active Academies Families,
I hope this message finds you doing well! It is with a mix of gratitude and bittersweet emotion that I announce my departure as Interim Principal of Active Academies. Serving in this role has been a true honor, and I am deeply thankful for the trust, support, and partnership I have experienced from our students, parents, and staff throughout this time.
I am proud of the four programs we have on this campus and the progress we have seen. We have a supportive community that I know will continue to grow at Active Academies. As I transition from my position, I am excited to introduce and warmly welcome Mr. Adam Johnson as the new Principal. Mr. Johnson brings a curated list of experiences, a deep passion for education, and a clear vision for the future of Active Academies. I am confident that under his leadership, our school community will continue to thrive and reach new heights.
Please join me in welcoming Mr. Johnson. I know he will be reaching out soon, and I am certain you will find him to be a dedicated and inspiring leader.
Thank you, again, for the opportunity to serve you and your students. I have truly enjoyed being back in the role of principal, and especially serving the students of Active Academies!
With gratitude and best wishes,
Kelly Strickland
Interim Principal

News from Nurse Ray
Please see important information below from Nurse Ray:
Please be advised, if your child has medication in the clinic, it will need to be picked up on or before the last day of school. If medication is not picked up, it will be discarded.
Medical Action Plans:
In order to manage your child’s health needs at school, specific medical information is needed. In order for services to be provided, an updated Action Plan must be on file on the first day of school each school year. Additionally, new Action Plans are required during the school year if the physician’s orders have changed. If your child has any medical condition/allergies, you may obtain the appropriate Action plan on the Cherokee County School District website in the medical forms section. This notice should give you time to complete the process and schedule doctor visits over the summer months. Please have your child’s physician complete and sign the Action Plan(s) and return to our school nurse.
