The Warrior Update for September 15, 2024
Updates and Reminders:
School Safety Drills and Requirements:
In light of the rumors last week and the tragic events in Georgia the week before, we thought it best to make you aware that we will be conducting a lockdown drill in the coming days. This is a routine practice we are required to do in addition to other safety drills (fire, tornado, etc). In an effort to prevent unnecessary fear, it is important that we all provide additional support and reassurance to our students that the staff of LMHS regards the safety of our students as our most important goal. Thank you for your continued support and consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the front office.

Senior Vaccine Requirement
In accordance with NC law, within 30 days, students entering 12th grade are required to have their 2nd dose of the meningococcal vaccine. Please contact your child’s healthcare provider and make an appointment as soon as possible to receive the vaccine if you haven’t already. Vaccination documentation will be required within the first 30 days of the school year. 12th-grade students who have not provided documentation within 30 days will be excluded from school. If your child does not have a primary care provider, vaccinations may also be received at the Franklin County Health Department. The health department can be reached at 919-496-2533.
Warrior Spotlight!
Amanda Unclesbay aka Coach UB
Everyone knows that Coach UB is an top notch math teacher but did you know she also works hard behind the scenes to coach and support our LMHS Athletic programs?! She leads the district in math scores and also helps make arrangements for our gatekeepers. She coaches tennis in the fall and softball in the spring. Thanks coach!
Here is what Coach Currin has to say about what she has been up to behind the scenes this year: "She has gone above and beyond helping me in any way she can. I am one coach who has a large team and she even came in one weekend to help me sort through new uniforms to make sure the men’s soccer team would look sharp for a Monday game day."
LMHS Student Government Association
This week we would like to give a big shout out to Ms Harris, Ms Cambra, and the LMHS Student Government Association (SGA). This is a very active group of Warriors that work tirelessly behind the scenes to plan activities that showcase the interests and goals of our students. Currently they are hard at work planning and preparing for spirit week and the homecoming PEP Rally! Homecoming events will take place from Sept. 23rd-Sept. 27th. We appreciate the extra time and leadership of Mrs. Harris and Miss Cambra in their roles to co-chair our SGA. Thank you! We are proud of all of our students and staff but it takes a good bit of extra time and effort to step up as leaders in the school! Great job SGA!
