Music Forward Foundation
The Music Forward Foundation Apprenticeship Program has an apprenticeship/job opportunity with one of their employer partners located in Vista, Show Imagining. Show Imaging is an event and project management company providing creative direction for the concert, sporting and special events industries. Their services include audio, video, and lighting technical solutions; technical and project management; design, onsite facilities management; equipment rentals and delivery. They are hiring 2 full-time apprentices for their Warehouse Technician (Stagehand) position and are recruiting young adults (age 18-24) from underrepresented populations. The deadline to apply is this Friday, June 14th.
This is a great position for young adults interested in launching their career in the arts, media and entertainment sector. Apprentices will be paid $19 per hour with regular wage increases throughout the program and will receive on-the-job training. If you know of anyone you would like to refer, have them complete the online application and send their name(s) and resume(s) to Ernesto Rivera (cc’d) at ernesto.rivera@sdcoe.net, and he can forward their information to the apprenticeship leads for consideration.

Colibrí/MX Scholarship
The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, in partnership with MAAC, awards the Colibrí MX Scholarship to promote access to higher education for immigrant students of Mexican or Latinx descent residing in San Diego County. First-time college students who can provide proof of enrollment for the fall 2024 semester and demostrate financial need, among other qualifications, can win a scholarship of at least $1,000. Building and Construction Trades Council
The San Diego County Building & Construction Trades Council has opened registration for their high school girl’s Construction Boot Camps this summer to inspire girls to pursue careers in the Building and Construction industry. There will be two sessions – one from Monday, June 24th through Friday, June 28th and a second from Monday, July 22nd through Friday, July 25th. During each week, participants will receive hands-on training in professional tools and techniques, learn about training programs they can pursue after high school, and explore careers in different construction specializations.
Lunch and snacks will be provided daily to participants as well as personal protective equipment.

Send Free Score Report
June 20 is the deadline for your teen to to send their scores to the college of their choice for free. If your teen is heading to college in the fall, using their free score send is the best way to make sure the school receives their scores in time to award them credit, advanced placement, or both.
Check your teen’s college deadline for sending AP Exam scores. Many colleges have a mid-July deadline, so we encourage students to send their scores as soon as they're available.

Graduating seniors are now preparing to finance an important next chapter in their lives: college or career training. Many have $500 to $1,500 in their CalKIDS account already which can be used to support these expenses.
What’s Needed To Claim An Account?
Claiming an account and using the money is quick and easy. Just follow these simple steps:
- Locate the high school senior’s 10-digit Statewide Student Identifier (SSID), which may be found on their school’s portal, report cards, or by asking their campus.
- Check eligibility here.
- If eligible, claim your account at www.calkids.org.
Once the account is claimed, money can be used to pay for qualified higher education costs, such as tuition, fees, computers, books, and more. The funds can be used at eligible colleges, universities, vocational schools, community colleges, and apprenticeships.

The County of San Diego Office of the Public Defender is seeking nominations for its Remarkable Teen Awards. The program honors 25 teenagers for accomplishments and contributions in 25 nontraditional categories. Teachers, principals, families, and community members are encouraged to submit nominations by the July 15 deadline.

2024 Teen Academy
FBI San Diego is now accepting applications for their 2024 Teen Academy, a free full-day program for rising high school juniors and seniors to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI. Students will participate in presentations and hands-on activities covering a variety of law enforcement topics such as terrorism, cybercrime, public corruption, polygraph exams, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office. Students will also hear from special agents, intelligence analysts, language specialists, and professional staff about investigative tactics including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assisting with cases.

All Girls Camp at Cleveland National Forest
The Cleveland National Forest is seeking female students ages 16 – 18 to participate in their inaugural All Girls Camp to inspire girls to pursue careers in wildland firefighting and other exciting and rewarding Forest Service occupations. Participants will learn how to fight fires and manage national resources through a variety of hands-on activities with their fellow camp members. Public Health Advocate Summer Camp
Join us for the 2nd Annual Peer Public Health Advocate Summer Camp, taking place Monday, July 15th through Friday, the 19th. At the 5-day summer camp, students will receive hands-on public health training from San Diego County's Health & Human Services Agency professionals in the following branches: Tuberculosis Control and Refugee Health; Epidemiology and Immunization Services; HIV, STD, and Hepatitis; and Maternal, Child and Family Health Services. Attendees will explore health careers beyond hospital systems, providing an excellent introduction to public health occupations and connecting them to a public health professional network. Students will collaborate on team projects and pursue public health topics individually during the experience.
