HPS Weekly Update
Week of March 31, 2024
Happy Easter!
Bond Survey
The Thompson School District invites you to participate in an important survey regarding public schools in our community and a potential property tax increase on the ballot this November. We greatly value your opinion, even if you do not have a student attending school in the district. So please participate and make your voice heard. The survey will only take 12 minutes, and your answers will remain anonymous and confidential. Please contact info@tsd.org if you have any questions about the survey. The survey is available at this link.
SAAC Topic Ideas for May Meeting
HPS School Accountability Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be emailed and shared with families via our weekly family newsletter to submit topics for future SAAC meetings.
SSEP Patches for Sale!
High Plains wants all members of our community to have the opportunity to purchase patches just like the two going to the International Space Station (ISS). The proceeds of your purchase will go towards helping all members of the Experiment Team to fly to Florida to watch the launch of their Mission 18 flight experiments and the Mission Patches on SpaceX-31 from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It is the same pad from which all the Apollo missions to the Moon launched. NASA has set a NET (No Earlier Than) launch date of September 17, 2024. Please check out this form for more details and to order a patch!

Attention High Plains community! We are so excited to host Jacob Mora and the Moraporvida Dance Company on April 5, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. His dancers will be giving a performance called “Moving Through Emotions” and then there will be an opportunity for an interactive session with Jacob, the dancers, and you! Your entire family is welcome to come and enjoy the show. There will be snacks and lots of fun! Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. It is a free Friday fun fabulous night filled with family, friends, and entertainment!
Chromebook Chargers
If a student loses their charger, they can visit the ITS website to purchase an approved new charger and not pay the $25 fine! Often the recommended charger will go on sale for $5-15 less than the fine. Visit the ITS website to find an Amazon link for some cheap current prices.
