Hello North Syracuse Central School District Parents, Guardians, Teachers and Staff!
As you know, yesterday was a holiday for students and staff in the North Syracuse Central School District for Veteran's Day. Last Friday night, we held the 2021 Military Honor Roll Ceremony. Although these events have both passed, I want to take a moment to ask you to recognize our veterans. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the heroic men and valiant women in our armed forces. I recently came across a quote from John F. Kennedy that I'd like to share:
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
This quote stands out to me as I think about Veteran's Day and honoring our vets but also as I think about doing the best I can and living my best life. During the month of November we celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week. Lisa Goldberg, the District's Director of Social and Emotional Learning, recently shared a video with staff that I wanted to pass on to you. The video shows how small, kind gestures can make a difference to others.
Sincerely,
Daniel D. Bowles, Superintendent of Schools

Gillette Road Middle School Student in Broadway's "Trevor: The Musical" Production
Brigg's mom, Tracy Liberman, is a teacher at North Syracuse Junior High School and is excited to be heading to New York City for her son's performances this weekend.
She said that Brigg started acting at Syracuse Children’s Theater at just 7 years-old performing a number of main character roles there. He has also performed The National Anthem at multiple venues including Syracuse's Carrier Dome. Tracy said, "He has always liked to perform, entertain and bring smiles to everyone around him with his voice and dancing. A friend introduced us to an agent and the rest is history!" Congratulations Brigg and 'Break a Leg' this weekend!

North Syracuse CSD Residents to Vote on Capital Project December 8
We call this project Structured for Success! because District leaders have worked painstakingly with our architects, the Board of Education and the State Education Department to design a proposal to maximize State Aid and minimize the local tax impact. Proposition 1, which includes renovations to the buildings mentioned above, will not increase local taxes. The priorities and structure of the project, along with good fiscal management of the District over time, creates a structure for success.
The project newsletter is available online and is in the process of being mailed to all District residents. To learn more visit the project website by clicking here or watch the video by clicking here.

Ms. Dair shared the videos saying how proud she is of Aria and her musical talents. She said, “Aria is a wonderful little girl and an outstanding student. She’s done so well at the NSEEP and absolutely loves our school’s new playground…especially the xylophone. She’s very musically inclined.”
Nationwide Service Disruptions Impacting School Meals
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are seeing nationwide disruptions to manufacturing, supply and distribution channels. You may have experienced this yourself when you’ve tried to order something online or buy something in the store and what you’re looking for isn’t available right now.
What does the shortage mean for school meals? In short, it means that we’re having trouble getting certain foods and supplies. Your student(s) may notice that we’re serving different items than we’ve served in the past or different items than were listed on the menu.
School districts across the country are experiencing these shortages and unfortunately, we cannot control the problem. We are doing our best every day to come up with solutions to these challenges.
