CMS Families,

I was reminded so many times this week of how great our CMS students are. I can't count the number of times I hear please, thank you, and encouraging words as I walk the halls. Every Friday when we go around the school to give out Colt Pride Awards, it is always encouraging to see how the other students in class celebrate the nominee! Thank you for partnering with us! Just one week left until Thanksgiving Break! Let's help support our CMS Dads' Club and those in need by donating frozen turkeys next Friday morning in drop off line! Last year we had over 80 turkeys donated...let's see if we can beat that this year!

DADS’ CLUB TURKEY DRIVE

Save the date for our annual Turkey Drive, benefitting Grace Food Pantry on Friday, November 22nd. Dads’ Club will be collecting FROZEN turkeys at drop off and delivering them to Grace. Any questions, please reach out to Dads’ Club Chair, Mark Alphonso at dads_club@cmscoltspta.org

Student IDs

CMS students are required to wear their school issued ID every day. If they forget their ID at home they should report to the office to receive a temporary ID. On the 3rd Student ID infraction students will be assigned a lunch detention.

If your ID is lost you may purchase a new one in the front office for $5 (cash only)

A Note from the Nurse

Parents of rising 7th graders:

School breaks are a great time to get those well check-ups and immunizations. Students are required by the State of Texas to have a TDaP and Meningococcal after the age of 11 and by the start of 7th grade in order to remain in public school. If your child has received these vaccines, please send a copy to candace.sibley@gcisd.net so that I can update our records. You can learn more about vaccine waivers and public school vaccination requirements at https://www.dshs.texas.gov/immunizations/school. I hope you have a safe and healthy holiday season!

Welcome to Colleyville Middle School PTA! We are so excited to start a new school year! Our goal is to connect with our school community by hosting fun events such as Back to School Social, Spirit Nights and so much more. We partner 100% with our wonderful school to make it the very best! Your PTA memberships and donations fund various school improvement projects, school programs, and continuing education for our teachers.We can’t wait to partner with you! THANKSGIVING PIES

It's our favorite time of the year, time to show our thankfulness to our staff members with pies!

Each year, just before Thanksgiving break, our CMS PTA provides a full size pie to each staff member as a token of appreciation for all that they do. This year Buttermilk Sky Pie is baking our pies, and the staff will pick their flavor.

Our families are able to sponsor a pie (or multiple!) for a staff member for $35 each. The pies will be delivered with a list of each sponsoring family on November 21st, before Thanksgiving break.

COTILLION - FAQs

FAQ about Cotillion and the Volunteer Meetings:

What is Cotillion?: Cotillion is a fun-filled 4-week event where your child will learn etiquette, social manners, and two different dance styles each night. Each week the event will have a different theme. The students are encouraged to dress in the theme and will enjoy food and dances that correspond with the theme. Cotillion will end with a formal event where your child will put into practice the etiquette, dance and social skills they have learned during the more casual events.
Will my child be partnered with the same person all 4 nights?: No, they will have a new partner every night.
Can I make a request for my child to be paired with a certain friend?: No, pairing is random.
What if my child can’t make all 4 nights?: Things come up and that is totally fine. Just make sure to let us know as soon as you can so that we can make any adjustments to the line up.
My child has allergies to certain foods. How is this addressed?: When you sign up there will be a section to let us know anything important, including food allergies. We will provide other options
Are the children fed dinner?: With the exception of finale, all other days will have snacks like foods and drinks.
I want to volunteer but can’t make the meeting.: No worries. Please fill out the volunteer meeting google form and we will get all the important information out to you. You will still be able to volunteer if you can’t make the meeting.
What is the volunteer meeting for?: The meeting is going to go over what Cotillion looks like, how the night should look the day of, and talk about the different committees you can volunteer to help with.
