Hello HHS Families,

We've had a great start to our 2nd Trimester. It's encouraging to see students utilizing the benefits of our new daily bell schedule and the increased opportunities to travel to get help with classroom topics and assignments!

As we prepare for Winter Break and move toward the midpoint of the school year, I want to thank all of you who are partnering with us to take full advantage of all of the opportunities that HHS can offer your child!

I hope you and your family have an enjoyable and rejuvenating Winter Break. Just to remind you, students' last day of school will be Friday, December 20th, and we will return on Monday, January 6th, 2025.

On Thursday, December 12, 2024 the Holly High School Choir Department received confirmation that soprano Lyndsey Tibbs was selected to participate in the MSVMA State Musical Theatre Ensemble. This is an incredible opportunity for Lyndsey who was one of only five soprano vocalists from across the state of Michigan selected for this honor. We wish Lyndsey all the best as she represents the commitment to excellence found here at Holly High School.

The Holly High School Running Horse Stage Company will wrap up their run of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream this weekend. Performances will be Friday, December 13 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 PM.

DECA Students Attend Sports Marketing Conference at LCA

The Spanish 3 and 4 students started the trimester with an exploration of children's games from Spanish speaking countries. They learned hand claps, versions of "Eeny, Meeny", songs, playground games similar to "Red light, Green light" and more! Students then read "Ramón Preocupón", a short story about a little boy and all of his worries. In the story his grandmother introduces him to her worry dolls and his worries cease! Students then got crafty and created their own worry doll!

This week, AP Biology students explored the process of fermentation in lab. They learned that some living things can make energy when no oxygen is available.

On Sunday December 8, the HHS Mainstreet Show Choir braved the winter chill to perform for a wonderful audience at the Holly Dickens Festival. State Award Winner Marie Halligan performed as a soloist with the group.
