Skyward Alert E-mails
Missing Assignments
We started sending an automated e-mail through Skyward once a week alerting parents of missing assignments. You can always check Google Classroom and Skyward to see what assignments are due and what is missing, but this is an automatic way for you to be alerted when things are missing.Attendance and Late to Class (Tardies)
We will also send automated reminders when students are absent or late to class/school repeatedly. If you have not downloaded the Skyward app, we highly suggest that too.
Update Information
It is important that parents keep their information updated in Skyward. If there is an emergency we do not want to have the wrong information. Please contact the proper school your student attends and give them any new information that needs to be changed whether it be for yourself, your spouse, another parent from a different address (we can separate addresses when student's are split between households),update new or old emergency contacts and any phone numbers for anyone on your Skyward parent portal. It is your responsibility to keep us informed. Albright 630-279-6160.
i-Ready Diagnostic Results
This coming Friday, we will be sending home your child's i-Ready Diagnostic Results. i-Ready has replaced MAP Testing and will be used to monitor student learning throughout the year. The best part about i-Ready is that it creates a personalized learning experience for each student based on their results. These lessons will be at their level and your child should be completing 40 minutes a week in their pathway for each content area (Math & ELA).
This week, your child reviewed their Diagnostic results with their teacher and Dr. Aulisa as we did a virtual meeting showing them how to read the report and set goals. It would be a great idea to have your child explain their report to you, but we will also include details on what everything means. Our students did a wonderful job taking their time and doing their best!
Safety Day
We had our second annual D48 Safety Day today! At AMS we ran a lockdown drill, hold drill, bus evacuation drill, fire drill, severe weather drill, and had lesson around online safety and digital citizenship. Our students did a great job of meeting our expectations for all the events throughout the day.
Emergency Vocabulary and Procedures
District 48 follows the Standard Response Protocol from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This protocol was adopted by DuPage county schools and helps to streamline communication within the building and with first responders. Click on the image to go to the I Love U Guys Foundation website and learn more.
Community Engagement
Community Engagement Series
Salt Creek District 48 will be hosting a community engagment series in which we use Jonathan Haidt's book, The Anxious Generation, as a guide for conversation around how we can best support today's youth. About his book, Haidt states, "My central claim in this book is that these two trends--overprotection in the real world and under-protection in the virtual world--are the major reasons why children born after 1995 became the anxious generation."

Student Attendance at Willowbrook Games
Greetings from Willowbrook High School.
We are excited to kick off our 2024 flag and tackle football season. As a reminder, for our home games, any student who is not in high school needs to be accompanied by their parent/guardian. When students who are not yet in high school arrive at the gate (we ask for student IDs), our Deans will ask if a parent/guardian is present with them. If they are not, the student will not be allowed to enter.
Thanks in advance for understanding these safety and security measures and we look forward to seeing you at our games this season.
Sincerely,
Dr. Krause
Principal of WBHS
