CBC YOUTH SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

We began this year praying that our students and their families would learn to love and grow in Christ. We kicked off the Fall of this school year building our minds and our community in order to grow and develop. In the Spring of this year we built on the Fall by working through discipleship and prayer for our friends and spheres of influence.

Now that Summer is here, we want to combine everything. Summer for us is not a time to take off but rather, it's a chance to grow all the more. Here are a few ways we want you to commit to growing as a part of CBC Youth ministry.

As we mentioned before, Conclave is equivalent to eating protein in one's diet. Can you survive with it? Eh, maybe? But it's not healthy. Conclave is simply the building portion of one's spiritual growth. There are other things that we offer in our youth ministry, but Conclave is specifically designed to dig deep into the Bible as our main text and then build off of that so that our minds can inform our hearts and our hands.

In that sense, Conclave is absolutely necessary for the growth of any believer in Jesus Christ. But even as I just wrote that, Conclave can benefit those of yall who aren't Christians. You're more than welcome to come and ask questions, learn, push back and see what this whole Christianity thing is all about also.

We try very hard in this youth ministry to make sure people can't use the excuse, "I'm not growing." Or "we don't do enough bible study." Voila! Conclave is there for you. Come join us.

Oh wait, we're also trying to open this up to anyone else who wants to join or can benefit from it. Youth, children, parents, non-Christans, people of other or non-faiths, college kids, post college kids, post post college kids.

D-camp is a four-day camp experience open to all incoming 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students where we will spend the week learning about Jesus, making new friends, and having a great time.

Impact is a five day camp experience open to all incoming 10th, 11th, 12th and graduated seniors where we spend the week learning about Jesus, making new friends, and having a great time.

Why should CBC Youth go to camp???

1. It is another opportunity to develop and mature in your faith as a Christian
2. It is a chance and place to stretch yourself as you grow outside the normal CBC environment
3. You get to interact with the broader church - like the other Chinese churches from Houston
4. If you're not a Christian or someone just interested, you get to see why Christians are the way they are and you get a sneak peak into why they love this Jesus guy so much.
5. It is a chance to get away from the normal routine of summer.

Obviously you're not attending this as a youth because you be old. But you get a chance to serve this week at CBC. If you've been served before as a child during VBS or VBC, here's your chance to return the favor and step in and serve these kids and their friends this week.

This is also an awesome chance to disciple those younger than you with all that God has shown and taught you this past year. Imagine the lives that can be changed by your faithfulness this week. Don't miss out.

This is a chance for students of the youth program to volunteer as helpers for the KidsMin at CBC. This is a beautiful opportunity to train and develop as a disciple but also a chance to serve and disciple younger students.

This is a unique opportunity for youth to engage missionally with other youth from across the country. This event will be hosted at CBC for the week and the purpose is to train and develop oneself in evangelism and discipleship. The Cost is $100.

Tentative Schedule

• Mon - 2 pm check-in into CBC
• T/W mornings - breakfast, devotional, training in Evangelism/Discipleship
• T/W afternoon - workshop/seminar/prep for evening outreaches
• T/W 5-8 - outreaches in Apartments (Sharpstown/Chinatown) where CBC missionaries are already working
• Thur - City Tour/NASA/Kemah
• Fri morning - breakfast, devotional, Hispanic/Ukrainian apartment outreach near CBC
• Fri afternoon - preparation for skits, worship
• Fri evening - Dinner and Evangelistic Night at CBC
• Sat morning - breakfast, clean-up, and departure
