A Message from Mrs. Lechner and Mrs. Dansberry

Hello WFS Family,

We love hearing how much our students are enjoying Flora and Ulysses! To keep the excitement going, we invite you to our Family Literacy Night on March 6th from 5:30-7:30 PM. This special evening will feature literacy stations, a book fair, teacher guest readers, photos with Ulysses, and plenty of superhero-themed fun. We hope you’ll join us for this fantastic celebration of reading!

Warm regards,

Mrs. Lechner and Mrs. Dansberry

Bond Referendum Vote: Tuesday, March 11, 2025

We are about two weeks away from the school referendum on March 11! This important vote includes projects that would increase safety and security and improve health and efficiency at every one of our schools.

Voter approval would unlock $45 million in state funding to offset the amount required from taxpayers. Residents would see an increase of approximately $37 per month in school debt tax for a home assessed at the Freehold Township average of $611,704. The investment would begin appearing on tax bills in July 2026 and be spread over 20 years.

Outdoor Recess

As the cold weather season is upon us, it's essential for children to dress warmly for outdoor recess. Encouraging students to wear layers, hats, scarves, gloves, and warm coats will help keep them comfortable and safe while they enjoy outdoor activities. It's also a great idea to remind them about wearing proper footwear to prevent slipping and to stay dry in snowy or wet conditions.

Cell Phones, Smart Watches and Electronic Devices

Students are permitted to bring cellular phones to school. Cell phones also shall include all other

electronic devices providing text messaging (Smart Watches) All phones and other electronic devices shall be turned off and placed in lockers or backpacks while the pupil is in school or at a school-sponsored event.

You may review this Board Policy 5516 on our website.
