A Message from Principal Buchko
Dear MacArthur Families,
There are so many exciting things happening between now and the winter break. Below you will see several pictures of our student lockers that they each paid $1 to decorate. The students are so excited and proud of their lockers. There is so much creativity. The money collected goes toward our Angel Tree helping our MacArthur families. Thank you to everyone for your support. A special thanks to our Student Council for organizing this philanthropic activity.
Our Honor Society is sponsoring a Candy Cane sale and all proceeds will be donated to the Buddy Bag Project. They will be sold before school all next week for a $1 and they can be given to any student or staff member. The Buddy Bag Project is a program that helps ensure that no child in south Lake County goes home hungry. It provides meals and snacks for students/families in need. Children who benefit from free breakfast and lunch at school are not always so fortunate on the weekends and the Buddy Bag Project helps fill that void. If you feel inclined to help fight student hunger, please reach out and donate to www.communityhelpnet.org/buddy-bags1/. Thank in advance for your generosity.
Have a Great Weekend.
Marian Buchko

- Each night, your student's grades will update in PowerSchool to match their Buzz grade (unlike only showing semester grades before).
- These are only the overall grade for a class. To see detailed information about each assignment, you will need to log in to your parent Buzz account, which is accessed through a link in PowerSchool.
If you need guidance for navigating Buzz, please see our September newsletter with Parent Buzz Account information.
Counselor Corner
Parents/Guardians,
Did you know about the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana? You can find the location of the next Pantry-on-the-go on Facebook at “Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.” The only requirement is a photo ID and you must be a resident in Lake County. You can also find other pantry locations at https://foodbanknwi.org/get-help/find-a-pantry/. Lake County has several programs available individuals and families who are in need of a little extra assistance. Remember, it is not a bad thing to ask for help- everyone needs help at some point. If you are ever in need, please feel free to contact me for a list of local community resources that are available.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Bellamy
