Message From Central Road School

Message from Mrs. Shostachuk
Dear Central Road Families,
Our first full week of school was filled with lots of teaching and learning. Students in grades 2-5 completed the MAP assessment in both reading and math. We are proud of the effort put forward by our students. With many new & returning students, families, and teachers, we continue to settle into routines, expectations, and all things that make Central Road special. We too enjoyed the favorable weather during the lunch hour. We hope the sunshine continues for weeks to come.
Thank you for taking time to read our communication. If you have any questions or concerns related to the information shared, please feel free to reach out at any time. We too thank you all in advance for your flexibility, patience, and partnership. Our door(s) continue to always be open to listen and work together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, September 16th. Please enjoy your weekend.
Mrs. Shostachuk

School Safety Drills
The safety of our students is always a top priority at our school. Our goal is not only to provide a safe environment, but to also prepare our students, staff, and school community to know how to respond if a crisis arises. To that end, each year, schools are required by Illinois School Code to conduct safety drills.
This year, as in years past, we will do 2 lockdown drills, 3 fire drills, 1 bus evacuation drill, and 1 shelter in place drill. For lockdown drills, parents have the option to opt their student out of the drill. If you would like to opt your student out of lockdown drills, please complete the Safety Drill Opt-Out Form. Our first lockdown drill is tentatively set for 9/30. We completed our first fire drill on 9/13 and bus evacuation practice will take place on 9/16 upon arrival to school.
Drop Off & Pick Up Table
Our drop off and pick up table is located in our school foyer. Please feel free to use this table to drop off/pick up items, school supplies, lunches etc.. Please note your child's first and last name and grade level on any items. Thank You
School Visitors
We love our school visitors. If you are coming into the building, please stop to check into our school office for assistance FIRST. If you are here to stay and volunteer, please bring a photo ID as well. All school visitors will receive a red visitor lanyard and sticker to wear. This is a visual reminder to all in our building that you have been welcomed in our school office. Please also kindly remain in the area you been designated to be in during your time at Central Road. Thank you for helping keep our building safe and secure during your stay with us. We appreciate all that you do for our school community.
